Prompt: 013: Dark and stormy night
A/N – Just a little fluff and nonsense of the team.
It was a dark and stormy night. The wind whipped the rain into violent streaks against the windows, the lightning sparked bright and the thunder was like the heavens were ripping apart, loud and shuddering. Inisde headquarters, agents were oblivious to the weather, too engrossed in cases, writing reports and watching the clock, waiting to be able to go home and rest their weary bodies.
Until Wayne Rigsby walked out of the elevator, looking like he'd just lost a fight with Poseidan. Kimball Cho looked equally roughed up, though not as shocked like Rigsby. As with most htings, Cho accepeted the weather as being bad. Rigsby seemed to take it as a personal offence.
"This is a new suit," he'd remarked to Cho as they'd stood in the elevator creating pools at their feet.
As they walked through the corridors fellow agents hid smug smiles and choked back their laughter. Rigsby gave them a scowl, Cho just kept walking, silently plotting revenge on every one of them, when the oppurtunity presented itself.
Lisbon, walking out of her office, paused in the hall and took in the state of the two.
"I thought you guys said you were going for coffee and donuts," she remarked, not even pretending to hide her smile.
Rigsby drew in a breath, baited his temper, after all she was the boss. "They blew away."
Lisbon put a hand to her mouth to hide her snort of laughter, not quite suceeding. Cho gave her a cold stare and walked on. He'd only came back for his stuff, screw paperwork, he'd catch up in the morning. Rigsby followed him, Lisbon stifling her laughter behind them and motioned to Van Pelt and Jane to take a look at the two of them.
Van Pelt stood and stared, not sure how to take their appearance. When they'd left they'd been fine, now they looked, dishevelled, in the worst possible way. She opened her mouth to say something, caught the unamused look in Rigsby's eye and closed her mouth again. Jane wasn't so tactful.
"Where's the donuts?"
Cho actually considered drawing his gun and shooting him. Instead he picked up his jacket and keys.
"See you guys in the morning." He remarked, leaving before any of them could wind him up anymore.
"Is it raining?" Jane asked.
Wayne scowled at him, flicked his wet fingers towards him, water spraying from his shirt sleeves and fingertips. Jane dodged and grinned and Wayne grabbed his own stuff.
"I'm going home."
"You written your report yet?" Lisbon couldn't help but tease him, just a little.
Rigsby looked concerned, glanced at his desk and even contemplated staying. Until he saw the glint in Lisbon's eye, noticed Grace laughing sliently over her computer keyboard. Turning he found Jane standing, holding out an old umbrella that for some reason had sat in the corner of the office without being claimed since its last use. Sniffing he lifted his chin, ignored them all and left the office, catching up with Cho at the elevator.
Behind them they could hear the unbridled laughter of the rest of their team.
