Summary: Edmund
is now at Aslan's camp but, before he can be reunited with his
siblings The Great Lion has to speak with him.
"Aslan I have brought you the youngest Son of Adam and brought him to you just like you asked." The general who had helped save Edmund from the clutches of the Jadis told a grand tent.
"Thank you Orieus." said the tent in a loud booming voice
Edmund had just gotten used to the talking animals in Narnia and now the great leader of free Narnia was a tent? If Jadis hadn't attempted to kill him Edmund would have rather been with her. How could a tent lead an army? Edmund realized he must be delirious with hunger and thirst and the tent flap fluttered and great golden lion stood in front of him. He was the leader, not the tent. Edmund didn't know what to say to the being that stood in front of him. He could tell by just looking in his eyes that he had let the Lion down and it hurt him more then when Peter acted like Dad or when Lucy got her way. He felt like a 12 foot giant of a bully had punched him in the stomach. But at the same time he had an understanding that the Lion would not harm him.
"Come with me Son of Adam." The Lion spoke his command and Edmund felt compelled to follow him away from the camp and to a rock over looking it.
Edmund stood face to face with the magnificent creature who he knew was the real leader of Narnia. "I think what I did was very wrong I am sorry… Aslan?" Edmund remembered those kooky beavers had mentioned that name.
" Yes my dear one I know. However what you have done has set off another prophecy. It was one that I hoped would not come to fruition." Aslan smiled grimly at Edmund.
"What did I do? She was going to kill me. If you would like to kill me it is okay with me because I deserve it. I'd just like a chance to say goodbye to my siblings. I mean they probably hate me but I know realize just how important they are to me.
"Edmund, I will not let you die because of a mistake that you made and are sorry for. You will be a great king. You will be the Just king. What you have put yourself through and how you are now able to see both sides of a situation will greatly aid Narnia." Aslan sighed "But, Edmund you have upset the deep magic of Narnia. Now blood must be paid in order to appease it."
"And that is the prophecy you didn't want to happen?" Edmund felt bad for questioning the great Lion but he had to know more.
"Yes Edmund it is. I never expected it to happen so soon. But, if a willing victim is slain in your place you won't die."
"So now you need to find a willing victim? Who would die for a traitor like me?"
"You shall understand when I wish for you to understand my dear one. Now it is time for you to rejoin your siblings. Do not beg for their forgiveness. They have forgiven you and will show you in their own unique ways. As for what I have told you do not dwell on it for all things shall come to pass when they need to. As long as you are on my side you will be fine."
Edmund was left trying to figure out what to say next when the Lion went to address his siblings.
