Lunella had always been the smartest in her class, it was like everything she was "taught," she already knew somehow. Her teachers were impressed with her and had tried to enter her into many competitions. Lunella never went to any however. Her parents never let her. Lunella was 12 now, and school was boring. It had always been but now it was worse.
Lunella was staring at the interactive white board in a haze, daydreaming. She was scribbling on her paper. As the teacher was walking around the room, handing back papers, she stopped at Lunella. She coughed to establish her authority.
Lunella suddenly woke up from her haze and grabbed the paper from her teachers' hand. As she looked down at it, she saw that she'd only got 39 out of 40 correct. Frantically, she searches through the book trying to find her mistake. It was a math question of 2 (3 x 4) + 15 / 2. She looked at the answer and the red X next to it. She closed the booklet and left the class for home time.
Once she got home, she went into her lounge and lazed on the couch, flicking through the channels. She then heard a slam from the front door and her mother walks into the room saying, "How was school?"
Lunella looked at her mother and shrugged her shoulders.
Her mother sighed and began to walk into the kitchen. Once she got into the kitchen, Lunella's mother said, "We've got Chicken Enchiladas for dinner tonight…"
Lunella turned her head and shouted, "MOM! I TOLD YOU I'M VEGETARIAN NOW!" Lunella's face had gone red now and she ran upstairs and slammed her door. She began kicking the door screaming and crying. She fell to the floor and curled up into a ball.
Time had gone past so fast, Lunella felt she had been there for an hour, but she could tell it wasn't true due to the darkness outside. She began to creep down her stairs and when she entered the kitchen, she found a note on the fridge with a magnet holding it up.
The note read, "I made yours without any chicken in. Heat it up in the microwave. Love you, mom."
Lunella opened the fridge door and grabbed the plate of food and put it into the microwave. She then rubs her eyes and poured herself some water. Her eyes widened as she thinks about the plate she had put in the microwave. It had a knife and fork on it. She looked over at the microwave and saw sparks flying inside of it. She spits out her drink all over the side and rushes to unplug the microwave. Before she could manage to get her hand to the microwave, everything went white.
When her eyes opened again, all she could hear was a loud consistent beeping. It was no longer bright and as she looked around the room, she could see that she was in a hospital room, plugged into many different machines. The door slammed open and a doctor walked in and exclaimed, "Nice of you to join us Lunella, finally."
