"I sense you are unhappy my dear", Gianna said. Gianna had been recently turned into a vampire. Her special power was to be able to see moods.
"Yes Gianna. I am unhappy", I told her.
"But how dear Sophie can you be unhappy here?" she asked.
"Look at the humans that come through here every day just to die. They are happy", I said, "I listen to your stories and I'm fascinated by them. I want to be able to walk out in sunlight. To feel the sun warm my cheeks once again, like it did when I was living. I want to skip down the streets of Volterra without a care in the world. Most of all, I want to find a normal nice guy. I don't wanna have to worry about someone seeing me sparkle or blood-lust".
"I see what you mean", she said, "Is there anything I can do for you?"
"No", I said, "Now leave me Gianna".
She left the room.
What would it be like to be alive again? Now that I was dead, I had more respect for the living.
Although I don't regret Aro turning me.
Without him, I would've died.
I don't remember much of my human life.
All I know is that I had been shot or something and I was bleeding really badly.
Suddenly, my best friend Elizabeth bounced into the room. "Let's go do something", she said.
"No Lizzy", I said.
"Are you in one of your moods?" she asked.
"Yes", I told her, "I wish to be living again".
"Well...you can't undo the past", she said.
"I know", I sighed. I got up and walked around the castle, until I found a window. I looked out the window.
The sunlight caused my skin to sparkle.
It shocked humans, but the impressiveness wore off.
I didn't give a care anymore. I watched the boys and girls my age run around on the cobblestone streets laughing and messing around.
Just one day.
Just one day I wish I could be normal.
If I could only have ONE DAY, I'd be happy the rest of my eternal life.
"Thinking my dear child?" Aro asked.
I didn't answer him.
"I know you are unhappy", he said.
"Material things will only keep someone happy for so long", I told him, "I've watched the years fly by so quickly and I've slowly slipped into depression".
"What is it that you want? Just name it and I'll try to find it", he said.
I turned to him and said, "I want to be loved".
"But you are loved", he said.
"No", I said, "You don't understand. I want to be loved by someone. I want to feel something. I've been numb to feeling for years. Find me my true love, and then I will be truly happy for all eternity".
A few days later, I was lying on my bed (which I've never slept in). My door opened and I turned my head.
In the doorway, was a gorgeous boy.
Aro walked in behind him.
"This is a newborn. His name is Jake", Aro said.
"Hello, my name is Sophie", I told him.
"Nice to meet you Sophie", he said kissing my hand.
I just giggled.
"I have arranged for you two to have your own private beach to yourselves today", Aro said.
Me and Jake walked along the beach barefooted and messed around in the water.
I marveled at his sparkling skin.
"Wow", I said breathlessly.
"Do I dazzle you?" he asked smirking.
"A little", I said biting my lip.
He lifted my head and softly kissed my lips.
Me and Jake got married and lived together for all eternity.
I never complained about being a vampire again.
