The Dinner Surprise a Zeki One-shot
Frost was just barely clinging to the windows, signalling the arrival of winter.
A girl with brown hair put her hand against her flat stomach, it wouldn't be long now til she started to show. The girl smiled to herself as she thought of holding the Kiryu bundle of joy in her arms for the first time, she thought of how happy her husband would be, since both of them were orphans, and Zero's twin had been abducted when they were very young... He was probably dead by now...
The girl shook this thought out of her head, this was a time for happiness, not sadness she reminded herself as she got into her little Toyota Prius and drove to her home. A wave of morning sickness hit her just as she entered the house. She had to rush to the kitchen sink so she didn't throw up on the floor. Her miniature Pomeranian ran up to her to see what was wrong and whined as though he wanted to ask in words if she was alright.
She smiled at the little gray pup after rinsing her mouth out with water.
She started to get dinner ready... Which consisted of a frozen pizza and a packaged salad... This was the extent of what she could make, as Zero had found out in the first year of their marriage.
After she was done 'cooking', she went to the living room, sat down on the couch, turned on the TV, and watched a soap opera that was on, waiting for her husband to come home.
When her purple eyed husband did return, he found her asleep and shivering violently on the brown leather couch, her little puppy, Aki, curled up by her arms, whining slightly. Zero smiled and gently shook her awake.
"Oh, welcome home Zero." Yuki said with a smile, as she rubbed her eyes sleepily.
The silver haired man smiled and gave his wife a kiss on the forehead.
They got up and headed for the dining room, where what the brunette had made was sitting there. All during dinner Yuki was thinking of how she would tell Zero that he was going to be a papa.
When dinner was finally over, Yuki didn't manage to tell him, too excited.
Later that night, while they were watching a movie, Yuki finally decided to just tell him already.
"Hey, Zero, you know how I went to my doctor today?" Yuki asked her husband, he turned his full attention to her and nodded so she continued, "Well I got some really good news." You could her the excitement in her voice.
"Go on, I'm listening." Zero said curiously.
Yuki smiled and snached his hand, placing it on her stomach, "You're going to be a papa Zero!"
He looked stunned for a moment, before pulling his beloved into his arms, a single tear of joy escaping his eye, as he kissed her.
