METROPOLIS
Lois stood in the bathroom shocked. All four tests had said positive. Lois let out a heavy breath and slid to the ground. "How am I going to tell Clark?" Lois said to herself. Before she could continue her train of thought, she heard the front door shut, indicating that Clark had come home.
"Lois? Where are you?" Calk shouted from the bottom of the stairs.
"I'm in the bathroom!" Lois shouted as she frantically cleaned up the pregnancy tests.
Clark walks up the stairs and into the bathroom, where he sees Lois scattering around frantically trying to
clean up the tests.
"Lois, what are you doing?" Clark asked as she turned around with all four pregnancy tests clutched tightly in her hands.
"Uh… I… umm…" Lois said as she stumbled for words.
Clark walked up to her and took the tests out of her hands. He looked at the sticks, and his eyes went wide with surprise.
Lois stood their nervously, waiting for a response from Clark. When she got one, it wasn't what she was expecting. He had taken her into his arms and started to kiss her with all the love that he could muster.
SMALLVILLE
Lois and Clark had taken the weekend off to come down to Smallville to visit Martha and Jonathan to break the great news.
Lois and Clark had just broken the news to the Kent's when Martha decided to bake a pie in celebration. Martha was so overwhelmed with joy that she ended up making thee pies. While Martha and Jonathan were busy in the kitchen, Lois stepped outside on the porch for some fresh air and to clear her thoughts. Lois stood outside gazing at the star-filled sky. She was out there for 5 minutes when she felt a presence behind her. She smiled to herself, knowing that Clark would come out soon after she stepped outside. Clark's hand's slowly wrapped around her waist, as she laid her head to rest on Clark's chest.
"I can't believe that this is happening," Lois whispered contently.
"Me too" Clark said as he kissed the top of her head. "I never thought that I could have children, but now…"
"Now what?" Lois asked when Clark didn't resume.
"Now… my life seems so complete and perfect. I have a fabulous wife and partner, a great job, wonderful parents, and the most important thing is that were about to have our own family."
Lois was un-characteristically quiet.
"What's wrong?" Clark asked patiently after a minute. He knew better than to push her for information, especially when something was bothering her.
After a few moments, Lois said in a worried tone, "what if I'm not a good mother?"
"Lois, sweetheart, you are going to be a fabulous mother. I know for certain." Clark replied, and tightened his arms around her.
Clark knew that he hadn't convinced her, after a minute or so of silence.
He took in a deep breath, and said, "why don't we take this one day at a time? We still have seven more months before our child arrives into this world."
Before Lois could reply, Martha was calling Lois and Clark to come in for some homemade pie. Lois turned around in Clark's arms, and kissed him lightly on the lips before they both went in for some pie.
