.:Always Late:.

"Hey, sweetie. I am so, so sorry, but I'm going to be late for dinner again." Blaine voice came through the machine.

Kurt was in the kitchen, his hands tied up with pulling a delicious chicken breast out of the oven. As Blaine spoke over the recorder he froze, anger bubbling inside of him like a volcano. When the machine beeped with the end of the message he shook before exploding throwing a beautifully plated dish against the wall behind the dining table.

"You're late! You're always late! Am I not important enough to come home to anymore?" He screamed into the air in anguish.

He slid against the cupboards unto the floor showered with hollandaise sauce and parsley. He held his face in his hands and cried. He looked into the heavens he didn't believe in and inhaled deeply. He was tired of crying over the same thing. He finally laid his eyes upon the mess he had made and sighed at his anger. He wiped his eyes and sniffled before getting up and grabbing a bag to clean the shattered plate and food all over the floor, table, and wall. As he was picking up the pieces he let the tears stream down his face in silence. He froze when he heard the door click. When he turned around he was met with Blaine holding a huge bouquet of roses.

Blaine stood there shocked at the sight. He quickly got on his knees, flowers forgotten on the floor where he last stood.

"Kurt?" Blaine whispered frightened.

"You said you were going to be late again…" Kurt trailed off through tears.

Blaine took hold of him and pulled him close. He never meant to do this to his love. Work was getting more hectic and he had been coming home late a lot and he knew the strain it had put on them both. He just wanted to surprise Kurt.

"I am so sorry. Daniel has been riding me all week to get a two week project done in three days. I just wanted to surprise you tonight since it's finished. Kurt, I am so sorry, I never meant to hurt you." Blaine cried as he cradled Kurt.

"I'm sorry too. I just got angry and scared." Kurt pulled away and looked into Blaine's eyes.

"It's not happening anymore. I told Daniel that if he has another project like this to give it to someone else because I have more important things." Blaine spoke.

"Blaine, you didn't. I'm just being a drama queen-"

"No, Kurt, you're not. I have been distant, and I have been a workaholic, but I never forgot about you. I love you more than that stupid job." Blaine said making his beautiful boy smile.

"I love you, Blaine!" Kurt embraced him once more.

"I love you too, angel. How about I clean this up and you go take a nice relaxing bubble bath?" Blaine kissed Kurt's nose.

"How about we both clean this up and then we both go and take a bubble bath?" Kurt wagged his eyebrows suggestively.

Blaine grinned at the proposal and the two set to work cleaning up the kitchen before racing to their garden tub for a nice relaxing, hot bubble bath together.
