Dan and his flat mate Phil were sitting on their sofa playing Mario Kart 8. Again. They had nothing to do that day, their video was edited and scheduled to be posted later that day. It was a best out of five. Each of them had both one two, shockingly. It was the last race, and Phil was attempting, and failing, to bant. "I'm gonna so beat you," Phil said, perched against the back of the couch, a look of intense concentration painted across his face. "Oh my god, Phil. You need to work on your trash talk," Dan replied, glancing over at Phil. His mind was instantly sucked from the game. Instead, it was focused on Phil. His deep, beautiful blue eyes focused intently on the game. His black hair swept messily to one side, the remnants of a bedhead.

"Dan! What are you doing!? You just stopped!" Phil shouted, breaking Dan out of his trance. "Wha…." Dan said, slowly focusing back on the game. "I just beat you 'cause you were zoning out! What happened, man?" "Um…uhh…" Dan flushed. He couldn't admit he was just checking Phil out. Phil couldn't know. He couldn't know that Dan was bi. He couldn't know Dan had the biggest crush on him.

"You ok Dan? Something on your mind?" Dan groaned, a frustrated, tired groan. "Phil, I can't keep this a secret from you anymore. No matter what I say, you won't get angry, right?" "Dan, I am your best friend. I couldn't stay angry at you if I tried." Dan flushed and stared down at his black jeans. "Well, Phil, I really like you. Not just as a friend, not even like a brother. Like, I want to hug you for hours and not let go. I want to kiss you and not be afraid. I haven't told you because I was afraid I would scare you away." Dan, feeling very red, covered his face and turned away from Phil, awaiting the annoyance, the skepticism, the disgust. Instead, Phil just sighed, like he was relieved. He turned toward Dan, wrapped his arms around him, and pulled his hands from his eyes. "I feel the same way. And I was just as afraid," Phil whispered in Dan's ear.

Dan turned around to see Phil smiling brightly at him. He pulled Phil onto his lap and kissed him. Phil wrapped his arms around Dan's neck, and Dan wrapped one arm around Phil's waist, the other running through Phil's hair. "I love you way more than a brother," Phil whispered against Dan's lips as he pulled away. "Me too," Dan whispered back
