She was his friend and partner. Why did he have to wish for more? Couldn't he be happy with a friendship...well more than a friendship actually. They were able to read each other better than anyone else. Most of the time, he knew what she was thinking before she did and vice versa. She was yin to his yang, the most important aspect of his life. Yet he yearned for more.
They were as close as lovers, except without the sex. And that is what he missed...what he wanted and craved. He needed that physical connection to his partner, his friend. He already knew he loved her...he even thought he was in love with her sometimes. The way his body reacted around her and the way his emotions went haywire at the thought that something might happen to her told him it was true. He was in love with her. All he needed was a sign from her and the courage to act if the sign presented itself. Because if this didn't go right, it could change their whole partnership...and that was what he was truly afraid of...
