Summary: Lee finds a tired Sakura and offers her some help.
Only a Matter of Time
"Hey, Sakura-chan! Wait up!" a male voice called out.
Said girl, a tired one at that, turned around to come face to face with a green spandex clad youth.
"Ah, Lee-san. What is it?" asked Sakura in a weary, yet friendly voice.
Rock Lee gave her one of his blinding, yet beautiful smiles. "Will you allow me the honor of taking you out to a very youthful lunch? "
"Eh? No. I'm sorry. I have work to do at the hospital today." Sakura nodded her head to the various medical books she was caring.
"I-I see." Lee frowned. He then instantly brightened. "Then allow me to escort you and carry your books to the hospital. And I won't take no for an answer!"
Sakura closed her eyes and sighed. She might as well. He was incredibly persistent. The young kunoichi was also very exhausted from staying up so late last night. She had been studying a new healing jutsu scroll her teacher had given her. She didn't get to bed until three and had to wake at seven. Only four hours of sleep. Plus the nonstop working and missions didn't help. Sakura was pooped. And Lee picked up on that. It was either that or she was to dang obvious. She hoped it was Lee being smart and not the latter. She hated being obvious, even though it seemed to be a part of her personality.
"Sure."
"OHHHHH! Yosh! Gai-Sensei will be proud!" shouted Lee excitedly, punching his fist into the air.
After doing a victory dance, song, and a small threat of castration from Sakura, Lee saluted her and took a hold of her books. They then started walking towards the hospital.
"I shall always be there to help you, my Cherry Blossom. Yosh!"
Watching from the shadows, Maito Gai and Kakashi Hatake stared at their students retreating backs. Gai was looking at his marvelous student, tears of joy running down his face. Kakashi was reading Icha Icha. Gai then threw his arm around Kakashi's shoulder, stopping Kakashi from reading. The masked man let out a sigh of irritation.
"It's only a matter of time before you and I become in-laws my friend. And I have the PERFECT wedding dress for Sakura! Although it's not white..."
A/N: It's short, but I like where it ended. Review please. Constructive criticism would be very much appreciated and loved.
