The Rain Man
He could hear the sounds of falling rain hitting his window still.
The weather in Konoha had dropped these following days. And Sasuke wasn't the kind of guy who would randomly complain about it. Snow, rain, cloud, anything could come and they wouldn't affect him.
Except that… yeah, he would prefer it better for the rain to stop raining, especially now, when he lied on the bed –annoyed to no end – caused by the fever.
He sneezed and grumpily changed his position on the bed; he was now facing the window and had the clear vision of the rain.
Rain…
It had happened quite a lot lately.
And when he searched at the back of his mind, he realized that it had happened pretty often in his entire life.
From the back of his mind he could remember a catch of conversation he had some time ago.
"Naruto really wasn't kidding when he called you Rain man. You know, it has been raining quite a lot ever since you were back to Konoha," Sakura had said lightly to him, on one of the breaks of their training.
"Hn," he mumbled as gazing at the raining sky.
"Ino-pig complained on how she couldn't do the laundry. But geez, with the amount of clothes she had, it must be rather annoying to do all the laundry,"
He busied himself cleaning his kunai and katana as she did the majority of conversations. The bubblegum-haired girl had chattered over things around the rain subject, while he was only being the listener –and not that he did a great job in it either.
"Now it really reminds me of you. Don't know why," Sakura commented.
Sasuke didn't exactly know what had pushed him to say it, but he did. "I'm not really fond of rain,"
She blinked before then chuckled. "Funny. You have the rain image, after all."
"Hn,"
"But don't you worry, Mr. Rainman. Because –"
He noticed the droplets were now reducing in amount.
His room's door was knocked, and then it creaked opened, revealing the jade-eyed girl who was taking off her coat now. "Oh, you don't know how annoying it is that the rain is stopping just when you're so preparing yourself to it," she mumbled as taking off her almost dry, ridiculous-looking light green raincoat. "Hey, how're you feeling, Sasuke-kun? Have you taken your medicine today?"
He stared at her.
"What?" she asked as putting her basket on his table.
"Nothing. I just suddenly remember something,"
"Eh?"
"But don't you worry Mr. Rainman, because I'll be the sunny girl for you,"
Back then, he had thought her stupid and childish.
But yeah…
She'd always been his sunshine after all.
End.
Super crappy. Damn it.
