Knock,knock.
Elle woke up with a start. She waited in her bed for a few moments, making sure she wasn't hearing things.
Knock,knock.
Elle got out of bed and hurredly put on her housecoat.
Knock,knock.
"Coming!" Elle said.
Elle walked out into the hall where the front door was.
"Who could it be at this time? It's almost midnight..."
Knock,knock.
"Who is it?" Elle inquired.
Silence. Elle waited for a few more seconds. Still more silence. Elle went to the door. She stood at the door, not touching it for a few seconds. Then, she swung the door open and went into the night.
There was no one outside the door. Elle figured it was some prank, or just some animal. She went back inside. She couldn't sleep, so she went to the kitchen and made some coffee.
Knock,knock.
Elle jumped as the knocking started again a few minutes later. Placing her cup down, she went to the door. This time however, she didn't say anything, merly went out.
Once again, no one was at the door. Elle searched around the outside of the house. She found nothing. She went back to the front of the house, when something caught her eye. In the garden nearby, there was something shiny. Elle went over and picked it up. It was a shard of something, and the tip looked sharp. It looked alot like...
...It looked like the tip of one of the spears that Ark had used during his adventures. Elle looked down at it in shock. It was looked to be off of the silver pike, though Elle herself didn't know this. Then, from behind, she heard a voice.
"Elle," it said softly.
Elle turned slowly to see Ark, or at least a projection of him of some sort.
"Elle," he said again. "You and I have gone through alot together. I came back to say goodbye."
"But why? Why did you have to leave in the first place?" Elle asked as tears began to slowly roll down her cheeks.
"It was my destiny. Just like it was destiny we met, and destiny that I will soon cease to exist." he replied.
Elle thought of something to say, but nothing came. She merly stood there as Ark started to slowly fade away...
