"Otogi please! Wake up Otogi!" Shizuka wailed.

She had been spending time with the seventeen year old when it had happened, when everything had gone wrong. She called Honda and her brother begging them to come and that something terrible had happened.

She heard a motorcycle in the distance and she hoped it was the brunette. She was relieved as she saw it come speeding down the street with two teenage boys on it. It stopped beside the girl, and the boy lying motionless on the ground, and the two boys got off. They removed their helmets and Shizuka recognized the blond and the brunette.

Katsuya and Hiroto rushed over and gaped at the scene in front of them. Shizuka sat on the ground, her hands dripping crimson, crying. Otogi Ryuuji lay on his back on the hard cement. He was lying in a pool of his own blood and gasping for air. He was still alive but barely, the gunshot wound to his chest looked fatal.

"What happened Shizuka?"

The fifteen-year-old rushed over to her brother and buried her face in his chest. Jounouchi wrapped his arms around the sobbing girl. Honda went over to where Otogi lay on the ground. He stripped off his sweater and pressed it onto Otogi's wound trying to staunch the bleeding. He glanced back at the siblings.

"Shizuka, what happened?"

Shizuka pulled away and wiped her eyes. When she finally talked her voice was shaky. "O-one minute we, we're walking…then…then the next th-these creeps come by and…and…they just shot Otogi!"

"What?" Honda yelled angrily. "You can't be serious!"

Shizuka just nodded.

"Did you call an ambulance?"

Shizuka shook her head. "I called you first Katsuya then my cell died while 911 was ringing!"

"Honda let's go, we have to get help for Otogi!" Jounouchi called eagerly to his best friend.

"No. Take Shizuka with you, I'll stay here. I want to stay with Otogi, besides it's safer for me to stay than for Shizuka to stay."

Jounouchi hesitated. "Are you sure you want to stay Honda?"

"Yes. Take her with you Jou."

"Alright, I'll be back as soon as I can."

Honda nodded and turned back to the boy on the ground. He listened mindlessly to the keys turn in the ignition of the bike and heard the vehicle drive away.

Tears fell from Honda's eyes as he saw Otogi lying on the ground in agony just fighting for every breath he took. Otogi's eyes fluttered and slowly opened. The revealed eyes betrayed the pain the boy was in.

"H-honda?" Otogi's voice was weak and hoarse.

"Yes, Otogi, it's me. You're going to be alright." Honda was sure he was trying to convince himself more than the boy in question.

"Please…c-call me…Ryuuji."

"Alright. But please don't talk. Save your breath."

Otogi shook his head weakly. "I'm going to die anyways. Please," Otogi coughed up a mouthful of blood, "just listen to me."

All Honda could do was to nod.

"There's something…something I always wanted to tell you. Honda…Hiroto, I…I've always loved you."

"Ryuuji."

Otogi shook his head. "I just wanted you to know that before I die."

"You're not going to die." Honda said angrily.

"yes I am. I…I can't make it." Otogi lifted a violently shaking hand and wiped the tears flowing endlessly from Honda's shimmering brown cheeks. "It'll be okay." He smiled weakly. "Goodbye, I love you."

Honda took Otogi's hand in his and touched his lips to it. "I love you too Ryuuji." His words never reached the boy. Just as Honda had kissed Ryuuji's hand the appendage went limp and Otogi's eyes slid closed.

"Goodbye Otogi Ryuuji." Honda said softly before weeping over his lost love.
