It's probably been done already (I didn't look through the whole section to check- sorry if it was, I had no intention to steal the idea.) but it was something that wouldn't leave me alone. Giggle and Back to the Future spoilers. Drabble-ish one-shot.
He looks it up when he gets back; he cant seem to think about 2121 as 'home' anymore.
It takes him 3 days, 18 hours and 37 minutes to work up his courage.
He remembers hoping, thinking it would be him.
But he's over 100 years in the future again. And she's already passed away. Yet he just saw her 5 days ago.
But looking this up, seeing who she married, hurts more then that knowledge.
There's other ways, but he puts on the Giggle, and for a breath stealing moment he thinks he back sitting on his couch in Pickford, looking up their test results in advance. Then it passes and he takes a deep breath.
'Keely Teslow…. Married April 30th 2017 to…..' Phil feels his heart freeze and he tries to swallow past the lump in his throat. Numbly he removes the Giggle, not bothering to shut it down and walks outside. He suddenly needs some air.
Barb watches it all from just outside the room. She knows what he looked up, and her heart clenches for him. She walks to the discarded device and reads the screen.
'…Married April 30th 2017 to Owen James.'
I made up Owens last name, since as far as I'm aware they never said what it was. Hope you enjoyed it. Alt version up too.
