What dreams? (A funny lil' fic lit after Reload 10)
"Hey monkey," said Gojyo, poking Goku on the head, "We've arrived," Goku slowly opened his eyes. A familiar face came into view, "You slept like dead, ya know?" The angry look in those amethyst eyes were enough to make Goku panic. "YIPE!" he yelled and scrambled to the other side of the jeep. "Goku?" asked Hakkai, looking concerned, "Is something wrong?" As Goku darted his eyes towards the healer and saw the hotel behind him. A five-star hotel with a winking panda.
"YIPE!" he yelled again and dove under the jeep. "Hakuryu," he asked, teeth chattering, "Please don't turn into your dragon form." Now, even Hakuryu was confused, "Kyu?" but he did as Goku asked and stayed in his jeep form. "Oi, saru..." began Sanzo, before Hakkai put his hand up. He looked down under the jeep, "Now, Goku would you come out and explain what you were dreaming about before we got here?" "Sanzo, you didn't kill a thousand youkais yet, did you?" Goku asked. A vein pulsed in the monk's forehead at that question. Gojyo concealed a snicker at the boy's question. A youkai Sanzo? That's an idea! "Why do you ask that, Goku?" asked Hakkai gently, though he was greatly amused. "Did Sanzo turn into a youkai in your dream?" he urged, "Did he turn into one while in a hotel like this?"
"Y...Yes," mumbled Goku, wondering how Hakkai could guess, "You guys were teasing him about it a...and..." he gulped. "Oi, saru," said Sanzo coldly, "Do I even sound like one?" It was then Goku poked his head out from under a jeep. "N...No," he mumbled. "You have your answer then," said Sanzo as turned towards the hotel and checked in. Goku slowly came out from under Hakuryu who turned back into his dragon form and flew to Hakkai's shoulder. Shaking his head, Gojyo clasped his hand on Goku's shoulder, "It's just a dream, kiddo," he assured Goku, "but it's a reasonable fear."
"Uh... okay," said Goku. Hakkai ruffled the boy's hair and smiled. He knew he had killed a thousand youkai, but he had his limiters made. No one was certain how though. Not that Hakkai was offended, If Sanzo had indeed turned into a youkai, he knew it was frightening to Goku who had been with the monk since boyhood. But it was still something to laugh about.
