The Hat Says I Told You So: A Hugo Story
By: SilverDrama
Summmary: Missing moment from 'How To Get A Boy, Even If He's Taken.' Hugo's sorting.
Notes: For those having not read 'How To Get A Boy, Even If He's Taken,' Lily was sorted into Slytherin.
Hugo didn't like being last. Even worse, right behind cousin Fred! Cousin Fred who had made a joke before sitting at the maroon and gold table leaving a nervous Hugo to suffer as the last sorted. Why couldn't Hugo's parents have named him Alexander?
"Weasley, Hugo."
Damn, why did Professor Longbottom have to call students so fast? Why couldn't there be an hour break in between each sorting? Honestly, much more entertaining that way.
Hugo made his way up, rather weak in his legs. Not weak more of his fighting his legs, the legs which wanted to run away screaming in a fit begging to just be put in Gryffindor and not put him through this. Perhaps Hufflepuff because he was to frightened to actually become sorted by the hat.
And yet and yet and yet, he was still walking up to the hat. Something in him, the survival instince as Rose called it, was making him walk up to the hat. He sat on the stool, placing his full ninety pounds on the three legs holding up the stool. Professor Longbottom gently placed the hat on his head, having to push it on harder since Hugo had an abnormally large head.
Ahh, Hugo Weasley. Glad I didn't confuse you with your cousin.
Confuse me? What? Can you just put me in Gryffindor?
Well, you're not smart, trying to fight the sorting hat.
I don't care if I'm smart or anything, just put me in Gryffindor do I can be with Rose.
And not Lily? You have no loyalty.
I just think I belong in Gryffindor.
Tell your cousin Lily 'The hat says I told you so.
Why? Just put me in Gryffindor already! It's where I'm meant to be.
I disagree.
"SLYTHERIN!"
Hugo walked over to Lily and delivered the message. "The hat says I told you so." He was confused.
AN: I know, short, but I didn't want to go into it too much, Hugo isn't that important. Also, this is one of my last updates before my hiatus.
