Tomorrow

AN: Rosalie and Jacob become friendly in 'A Place Only We Know'. This is the story behind that.
Disclaimer: I own nothing. Had I, I wouldn't be writing fanfiction now would I?
Tomorrow
I couldn't stand the boy. Not really.
His short hair was in a tussle and his hands were covered with the slick grim from the car he was working on.
But that's not why I couldn't stand him.
Despite popular option, I didn't care for looks.
He reminded me too much of the life I should have had.
Instead of being some static she beast of beauty, I should have been a mother.
I could have been his mother.
Grandmother. Great-grandmother. I didn't care if it was the first or the latter; I just wanted to be a matriarch.
"Got it, leech," He said somewhat ecstatically as he closed the hood of the car. "29 minutes and 42 seconds. Not bad, huh?"
He had this goofy smile on his face that might have been charming to anyone else, but not I.
I took quick strides over the car in question and popped the hood with lustrous, manicure nails. I glanced around for five seconds, then shut the hood again.
He had done good. Very good. I would have been surprised if it was some human (or moving body in general) who accomplished this. But it wasn't.
This was Jacob Black.
Alpha of the Quileute shape-shifter.
He could do better.
"You didn't warm up the engine enough before you started so now you have specks of dust all over the place, you removed positive terminal cable before you did the negative one and that has the potential to be a hazard…the Piston rings…yuck… enough said about those, and you did nothing to the Crankshaft."
He rolled his eyes and muttered something or other along the lines of 'but I can't even see the dust particle…' then sighed heavily.
I held my breath.
His scent was nauseating, and even though I wasn't breathing it burned in the back of my throat, making me want to gag.
Alice reminded me that we didn't smell to appeasing to the shape-shifters either.
I didn't care thought; I wished they all smelled like Leah.
Leah was my type of girl; callous and tough on the outside, but sweet on the inside.
From what Edward had relayed to me, she went through a lot of heart break in her young life. Sam, Jacob (I was going to have to strangle him for that little incident latter) and Mike, who was trash at any rate.
Still, she held her head high, set her jaw with determination and went about her merry way.
We had so much in common and I found myself automatically attached to her.
It came to no surprise to me when Alice told me that it was possible, more than possible, that they would end up together.
Vamp-boy and She-wolf, hand in hand, in love. Sounded great to me.
Jacob was in on that little secret too. He actually smiled at me when we saw them hug a few weeks back in his apartment, Leah declaring him her best friend.
I smiled back.
"So when are you going to show me how you would do it, oh Queen of the Damn cars?"
I turned on stiletto-clad heels and headed for the door, turning over my shoulder once to look at him.
His short hair was in a tussle and his hands were covered with the slick grim from the car he had been working on.
I couldn't stand the boy. Not really.
"Tomorrow." I said stoically before I left the garage and went to go join my husband outside.
"Tomorrow. It's always tomorrow with that leech. She sounds like my mother…" I heard him grumble as I made leave.
It made me smile.
Yes, I'd show him tomorrow.
AN: I hope you enjoyed that!! Please review because it is loved.
