Happy Birthday Arvon/Angel! I wrote this for you as your gift since it is a Pokemon fan theory and one of the two that you mentioned! I hope that this isn't too depressing! I hope that you do enjoy my attempt at writing for a Pokemon Fan Theory!

Gary cradled the large rodent against his chest as he croached down before the grave that lie before him.

He was normally far more vocal and confident than this, but now he couldn't utter a single word that could come across that way.

Gary's voice came out in a frail mumble as he buried his beloved Raticate.

It hurt to bury any Pokemon especially one of your own.

Raticate's large brown body was carefully placed in to the ground as the engraved stone was placed on top of it to signify what Pokemon and whose Pokemon was buried there.

He mumbled a few words in remembrance for the amazing teammate that he had had so far on his journey, but he had never been the best at saying the right thing.

Gary Oak knew that he'd never get that exact Pokemon back, so there was no point in recatching a Ratata after this awful experience.

Not every trainer experienced a loss quite like this as many did not lose their Pokemon to death.

He choked on his own tears and moved to stand back up, so that he wouldn't be kneeling there any longer, only to relive and hold on to the pain longer.

Gary worked at restoring his calm, but couldn't help revisiting the grave often were he remet his rival.

He bit back the hatred and bitterness to only show his normal self as the other person certainly wouldn't understand this loss and may just shove it in to his face later on again and again.

His heart stung, but he figured that he could live.

Gary tried not to grow close to any of his other Pokemon for fear of the same thing happening to them.
