"Hey."
She could be called beautiful.
"Yo."
He might be considered interesting.
"Some guy snuck in and stole my bounty."
People would stare at her; she was simply that kind of person.
"Huh."
He was unnoticeable in a crowd.
"The guy goes by name of Spiegel. Spike Spiegel. You ever heard of him?"
She had a mind of steel.
"Hmm..."
His could rival hers.
"Well? Have you?"
She kept her secrets well, hiding everything behind those sparkling eyes, perfect body and full lips.
"Nope. Can't say I have."
He never revealed anything about himself. He was just there, the all knowing, silent one. Always hiding behind the transparent veil of cigarette smoke that he exhaled.
"Dammit Spike! Why the hell did you come in there like... like... oh, I don't know! Like you owned the place! And then, then you proceeded to steal my bounty!"
She would never admit it.
"So? I bet I needed the money more than you did."
He wasn't even sure, really.
"Did? Did?? What makes you think I don't need that money, you... you..."
But she did have some amorous feelings for him. Somewhere, deep down.
"Watch your blood pressure, Faye."
He couldn't explain why he enjoyed teasing her, fighting with her, quite as much as he did. It was a masochistic habit; he knew that.
"Spike! Dammit!"
She wished that she didn't.
".....anything else?"
He knew that it would never make sense.
"You jerk!"
After all, weren't there just so many more guys in the world? Nice ones, too. Not like that particular lunkhead.
"I thought we covered that already."
And there were other girls out there, like her. Or better yet, her, herself.
"..You're too damn impossible to deal with, Spiegel."
Thing is, that particular lunkhead was so... unique, as he sprawled over the couch, looking at her with those sleepy eyes.
"Really, now."
And she wasn't available, now, was she? However temporarily... he was free. And he did like what he saw.
"I'll leave you to contemplate your guilt, Spike. Robbing a poor girl like me of her only source of income."
Besides, wasn't she unique, in her own way? Birds of a feather flocked together, after all.
"Next time I've got nothing better to do, I'll consider it."
Ah well. So similar, yet..
"Hmph."
..so completely different. Too bad.
just an ordinary day, cowboy..
