BUT LESS
The crowd kept on chanting his name. He remembered how that used to swell him with pride; the rush of adrenaline, the power... but now it only brought back the awful memories.
"No!"
Rocket knew this was a dream –one that he wanted to wake up from. But tossing about in his bed was not helping. A push from Kernor, a tackle to Sinedd... The mechanism on the locking him in with a new opponent each time. Luur pushing him to the ground and him pushing Tia towards the wall.
"Ah!"
The annoying voice that announced there was someone on the door finally managed to wake him up. Still shaken, he leant up on his arm, grabbed the remote from the nightstand and opened the door.
"Tia!" he said, as he sat up and she walked towards him with a grim expression on her face, "I was going to visit your room but... I guess I was afraid."
"Yeah, I thought it was something like that," she said looking at the ground.
"How is your leg? Better?" he asked, the moment of the injury fresh in his head.
"That's not where it hurts," he bowed his head at her words, guilt overwhelming him, "I really thought I lost you to Netherball."
"I thought I lost myself," he said sincerely, "But now I'm with you. Can you forgive me?"
"Hmmm... No!"
"Huh?" he was surprised at her decision; stubborn as she was, he always had managed to get his way with her..
"I'm still a little angry with you," Tia said, leaning on a hand and crossing her legs, "But thanks for saving my life in the forrest."
That was something he really didn't want to remember but receiving some appreciation was for his benefit while on a task to melt the ice. He smiled to assure her it was something he would do any time and risking more than he would like to admit, he boldly kissed her.
"Thanks for saving mine last night," he stroked her hair, confident that he was forgiven now that she hadn't pushed him off.
"That's funny," she said, "I'm still angry with you."
"Really?"
"But less," she laughed.
Rocket frowned, pondered for a moment and then taking advantage of her being distracted threw her onto his bed and started kissing her again.
"Hey," Tia yelled, "Where do you get the courage for kissing me? I said I'm still angry!"
"And then you said, 'but less'!" he grinned smugly down at her, "Isn't that a clear come on for what I should do to be fully forgiven?"
She gaped at him, bewildered by the thought for a good minute before she announced her decision:
"You're insufferable!"
He smiled:
"I missed you."
************
The second to last line of Rocket is exactly what I've been thinking ever since the first time I saw this scene; so the idea has been there for more than year O_o I know, I'm lazy. And I tend to make Rocket a little more... flirty (?) than he is shown in the cartoon (Oh the words I yell at him everytime he goes to smell Parfeite Blues in the Genesis Forest as Tia tries to kiss him!!!) but on my defense, I always thought he had it in him to do something underground (Netherball!), too and the first time I saw him he was doing Snow Angels in the Red Tigers match. So there.
On another note: I am working on that other strory of mine but it just doesn't satisfy me and I've been through a very busy year. And it's not going away. So if anyone is dissappointed, sorry. But why should you be? There are quite a number of good fics in this fandom now!
