Lucy sat at the bar gazing intently at her strawberry milk shake, she couldn't bear to look at her team; no they weren't her team anymore. She wanted to be over there, laughing, joking, fighting, and going on jobs with the team, but she had no right to do so anymore. A silent tear feel from her face onto the bar top, noticed only by Mira. Lucy had been foolish, she knew that Natsu cared for Lisanna before she died, but now that she's back why would it be any different? Natsu had told Lucy that morning he was going to ask out the girl he loves, and Lucy smiled and told him to go for it, despite her breaking heart.
Mira watched the blond mage down her milkshake with a sigh, the takeover mage felt partly to blame for Lucy's unhappiness. Lucy had fallen in love with Natsu over all the time they spent together, to her he was a dream come true, he was the friend she spent so many nights wishing for. He was always around her, and she thought he felt the same for her.
Lucy thought back to when she first joined Fairy Tail, when she woke up from a nightmare to find him in her bed. Natsu had petted her hair and softly sung a lullaby to her till she soon slept once more peacefully in his arms. Her mind replayed for her every good memory they shared, and every time he called her strong, but now the words that floated over to her ears from his mouth was how weak and pathetic she was. Her heart felt empty, she had no family left, and now her friends were abandoning her.
Natsu looked up in the direction of Lucy as she stood and made her way over to where he sat, he could smell the tears as she smiled at him. "I'm sorry Natsu, I've been rather foolish as of late, and I've come to realize that Fairy Tail just isn't the place for me." Lucy spoke so softly even with his sensitive hearing he strained to hear it. Mira watched the quite transaction. Her eyes trained on Lucy even as the blond shuffled off in the direction of Master's office.
Master smiled when he opened the door to reveal Lucy, but the smile quickly faded as he took in the sight of one of his children crying. Lucy simply dropped to her knees and hugged the small old man crying even harder "I'm sorry Master, I'm sorry. I was so blind! I was falling for Natsu and didn't even care that he only thought of Lisanna. I'm such fool." Master couldn't bring himself to say anything to his distraught child only to pat her back and listen "I thought Fairy tail would be a place where all my dreams would come true, I was foolish to believe that" Lucy cried until her eyes hurt unaware of another pair of eyes watching her break down.
Natsu watched and listened to Lucy's sobs in disgust, he lost track of how long he stood there waiting to speak till her sobs subsided, he took no notice of the pained look on Master's face. The main hall seemed to have become silent after he charged off after Lucy's shaking form. Finally the sobbing dulled to hiccups and Natsu dared t open his mouth "You're right Lucy, you are foolish" he said keeping his voice at an even tone, Master shot the dragon slayer a look to keep quiet, Lucy on the other hand seemed to jump out of her skin at the sound of his voice, but still he spoke on "I mean come on, how dense do you have to be not to have noticed Luce? I love you too"
