********************

I'm kinda nervous right now. I mean, what man wouldn't on their wedding day? But of course, my nervousness is nothing compared to what I'm sure Sam's feeling. I've been through this once before remember? She hasn't.

So, I'm dressed in my dress blues, which earned a low whistle from Cassie. Daniel and Teal'c are my best men. They decided to wear matching tuxes. How cliché is that?

Anyway, I'm being assured that Sam isn't going to back out, but I still can't believe it. I mean, eight months ago, we weren't even together, and today we're getting married.

How much luckier could a guy get?

Okay, the music is starting up, and I can't breathe. Sam looks beautiful in her dress. I don't know who talked her into getting that one, but I'm glad they did.

I don't think Jacob could be happier right now. His little girl is all grown up and getting married. I'm sure he's gonna be reluctant to hand her over to me, and I can't say I blame him.

"I do."

Those words have just turned my world upside down.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Kissing Sam is still an experience that catches me off guard. It's always so full of passion, but at the same time can be the most innocent thing in the world. I love it, almost as much as I love her.

I hate these things. You sit there, unwrap a few gifts that you're never gonna use, and then have to listen to boring old men talk about how young kids these days don't know anything about anything.

On the other hand, I like the looks of the box that Sam just set aside. I believe it came from Janet.

"Remind me to thank Janet later."

Sam smiles warmly from his position below me, and I quickly capture her lips.

Oh yeah, I like where this is going.

Sam and I have been married for a year now. She's taking me out somewhere tonight for a surprise.

What's she got up her sleeve?

A song eh? Ex-cell-ent.

It's not the pale moon that excites me

That thrills and delights me, oh no

It's just the nearness of you

It isn't your sweet conversation

That brings this sensation, oh no

It's just the nearness of you

When you're in my arms and I feel you so close to me

All my wildest dreams come true

I need no soft light to enchant me

If you'll only grant me the right

To hold you ever so tight

And to feel in the night the nearness of you

Her voice fades out and she shyly makes her way back to our table. She's awarded with several rounds of applause; mine included.

"Have I ever mentioned the fact that I love to hear you sing?"

"Yes you have."

"Okay, just making sure."

We smile warmly at each other, and before long, make our departure for the evening.

I love her, and I love my life with her.

A bit on the short side I know, but hey, give me a bit of credit. I wrote this in about twenty minutes. Hope you guys liked it though. I may continue this depending on the feedback I get.
