A Sign

It was a quiet peaceful day in Nerima. As if Nerima could ever have a peaceful day. Let's just call it a normal day shall we?

A large, tall man was strutting down the street in his spiffy green uniform. A smug look crossed his face as one though crossed his mind, 'Today is the day, I will take their dojo sign no matter what!'

Now to a normal person this may sound a little odd, a large grown man, challenging local dojos and stealing their signs. For Nerimians on the other hand it is all business as usual, nothing really out of the ordinary.

So now the "normal man" has stopped in front of an old dojo with a few holes here or there but still standing. Yes this place has seen a lot of action, though ironically most of the damage is from the inhabitants. The sign read simply "The Tendo School of Martial Arts" not a really fancy item, the sign is beaten, and even the writing is worn out, but that didn't bother the man.

He pushed his way through the doors walked straight through the house and into the dojo, where one certain young couple is training. Let me rephrase that, a forced young couple were training.

The large man did not exchange pleasantries with the couple, and he didn't even excuse his entry. All he did was calmly issue his challenge to the couple. Exactly six minutes, five seconds and three nanoseconds until the large uniformed man was flying out the door unconscious.

Soon the man woke up on the dojo lawn and quickly left to gather his wits. He soon challenged the dojo again, time after time. Each time hailed the same results. And the couples' time of defeating the uniformed man was improving every time. He was now a regular visitor to not so regular Nerima.

After a while the large man was starting to think over challenging the couple in the old dojo. 'One last time' he said to himself as he set off to the dojo. Yet instead of having to go into the house they were already outside. 'Strange' thought the man, he had better be careful.

Then without warning the man of the couple threw their old worn sign at the large man who caught it with some ease. Then the man said "Here you go this sign is yours." Those were the greatest words the large man had ever heard. He quickly stashed away the sign greedily.

The woman of the couple put up another sign before speaking while swelling with pride, "Yes you can have it, and we are now the Saotome School of Martial Arts!" The large, green uniformed man did the appropriate thing at the moment and broke down in the young newlyweds' front lawn.
