Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "A Friend in Need" from Season 6, with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
One morning, Thomas puffed along his branch line, thinking about his new friend Jack.
"I hope he is doing well." puffed Thomas. Yesterday, Jack had gotten into trouble for not following the rules.
The Pack were widening the road beneath the old bridge when Thomas arrived.
Work was fun for everyone!
Jack felt very proud. He had worked hard and followed all the rules.
But he was still worried that Miss Jenny wouldn't let him stay.
Meanwhile, the foreman came over to see Oliver.
"This soil needs moving now!"
"I'll move it!" called Jack.
Everyone tried to stop him, but it was no use.
Jack was about to fill up his bucket when he remembered what Miss Jenny had told him.
"Don't jump in where you don't belong!"
Then, Oliver came over.
"This job belongs to you, not me." said Jack. "I'm trying to be really useful!"
"Thank you!" said Oliver politely.
All the other members of the Pack were pleased that Jack had listened.
Jack beamed proudly.
Later, Ned was moving under the bridge, when disaster struck! Ned hadn't lowered his crane in time, and caused the important keystones to come loose, and the bridge to start to break apart!
Meanwhile, Thomas was puffing towards the bridge, unaware of the danger.
When Jack heard Thomas's whistle, he lifted his front-loader up against the bridge.
Thomas soon saw the flagman, and his driver applied the brakes, just in time!
"Hold on Jack!" called Kelly and he rushed to help.
Jack couldn't hold on to the bridge any longer. He let go, and the bridge fell apart!
"Are you alright Jack?" asked Kelly.
"I think so!" replied Jack.
Soon Miss Jenny arrived with Sir Topham Hatt. Jack was nervous that they both would be cross.
But they were both very pleased.
"Spot on Jack!" said Miss Jenny. "You are a really useful front loader!"
"You are going to the Works tom morrow morning to be repaired." added in Sir Topham Hatt. "And, as a reward, you can stay with the Pack!"
All the members of the Pack cheered!
"Welcome to the Pack, Jack!" exclamed Alfie!
Jack was so happy to be part of the Pack!
