Steam rose up thickly from the huge scarlet engine, The Hogwarts Express, as Gen, a young witch boarded it, throwing in one last wave to her waiting parents. "I'll never find a seat here" she muttered making her way through the crowded cars. Grinning she walks up to a young lanky wizard who appeared to be around her age, "Excuse me, is this seat taken?"

"No, it's all yours" he said grinning wide at her. "I'm Albus Potter, and you?"

"I'm Gen, with a G, not a J, and my last name's Marlinston."

"Well it's nice to meet you Gen" he replied gesturing to the empty seat in his cabin. "I'm waiting for my brother James and my friend Rose to join us. By the way, what year are you in?"

My second, I'm a transfer student, from uh, Beauxbatons so I guess that makes me new."

Albus smiled at her hesitation to reveal her previous school.

"But of course I read many books about the school already..." Gen added in.

"Oh you'll just love Rose then, she'll read what ever she can get her hands on!" As Gen pulled out a book on Quidditch, Albus blurts out "You like Quidditch?"

Biting her lip Gen replies "Yeah I always wanted to try it but we had an age restriction on it, Hogwarts too, right?

Nodding Albus adds "My uh, dad is uh, Harry, Harry Potter."

Gen's eyes widen reaching out to run her hands through Albus' hair "I see that, you have his hair, and Lily's eyes." Turns hearing someone clear their throat, it's a red headed girl also around her age. "Oh, hello, I uh..." she pauses blushing.

Albus points to the girl who has joined them in the cabin "Gen, this is Rose, Rose this is Gen. She's a new student here in our year, she's from Beauxbatons"

With a skeptical look Rose waves to Gen "Have a favorite house?"

Gen grins wide "Though I do like Ravenclaw, I think I'd be at home in Gryffindor."

Albus cuts in "That's our house! I hope you get placed with us" he grins winking.

Rolling her eyes jealously, Rose adds in "Albus and I have -lots- of fun, In the house of course" she adds in as Albus gives her a look.

Hearing a loud hoot Gen pulls a large metal cage closer. "Sorry guys thats just my owl, Onyx gets a bit jumpy sometimes. I should put my robes on..."

Albus and Rose nod pulling theirs on as well as the mysterious Hogwarts Castle began to come into view.
