She sprung up quickly, heaving breaths of air in as a cold sweat trickled down her forehead. Again. Another dream…or maybe nightmare was the more appropriate term. It had been the same thing every night; aside from small details added here and there, the vision of Tidus so gallantly diving off of the airships platform played over and over in her head like a broken Sphere. And as much as she tried to stop it, it couldn't…it wouldn't.

You have better things to worry about. He's gone now, he won't be coming back. Focus on helping Spira. Focus on what's alive and not dead.

A sigh escaped her, and she slowly rid herself of the blanket that lay on and around her form, sitting up and swinging her feet over the side of the bed, the window of her room allowing her to see the environment outside. All was still, save for the stars that seemed to trudge on slowly in the sky. Taking it as a sign, she was up out of bed, and out of her hut- like home, the cold night air sending shivers down her spine. She was fully clothed, so even if anybody dared to be up at this time, she didn't have a thing to worry about. She'd always worn her clothes to bed…just in case she needed to be up and out in the middle of the night, for whatever reason. It was rather uncomfortable, but very useful.

She remembered the one time where, on the trek to Zanarkand, they were camping out and had set up tents. Everyone was sounds asleep, including she…that was, until Tidus had woken everyone up, shouting something about a Behemoth. In a flash, she was up and out of her tent, as was Tidus. Before the others had even gotten a chance to get dressed, the two had single-handedly vanquished the monster. And her reward?

"Way to keep on your feet. If you didn't sleep dressed like I do, chances are I would've been done for."

She'd taken the compliment, nodding and smiling…but his words had struck her on a deeper level, embedding themselves into her heart and refusing to go away. He'd always had that effect on her…she didn't know when it had started during their long journey, but once her feelings, however irrational they were, forced themselves in, they stayed buried, and refused to budge.

And then, there was the one time with the snowmobiles, right after they had met Ri-…

"Hey."

The gruff, yet quiet male voice startled her out of her wits. She spun around, hair flying behind her, and there stood Wakka, arms crossed and a questioning look on his face.

"What you doin' up? I never figured you as a sleepwalker." He spoke, grinning broadly.

She sighed. "Yes, well…it's hard to sleepwalk if the sleeping isn't paired along with it."

Wakka nodded sympathetically. "Ya, I guess so. We've all had it pretty rough for the past few weeks. Ever since Sin's been gone, and the Yevonite revolts have started…it's been pretty rough. Surprised you didn't take a Crusader with you."

She couldn't help but smirk, crossing her arms and shaking her head slowly. "I could handle it."

"Mmm," Wakka agreed, running his forefinger and thumb across his goatee. "I suppose so. Still, it would be a lot safer if you had someone with you, Lu."

Lulu shook her head once more, looking around. This definitely wasn't the beach. She hadn't gotten that far either. Oh well…now that Wakka was here, she wouldn't be able to get to just sit and think to herself. She didn't regret his presence, no…he was a dear friend. It was just that she needed time to herself to sort things out in her mind.

Things like her love for the man that had died, and how she was to cope with it.
