Bittersweet Chocolate

Naruto is clumsy and a goof. He seems to do very few things right. However, when he makes chocolate for Sasuke, something that should certainly turn out badly, it seems he's actually managed to do something right. SasuNaru is you squint. One shot. Drabble

This isn't one of my most interesting fics, sadly. It was written for a challenge, and I'm really not happy with how it came out.

"Naruto," Sakura began, staring at the blonde trying furiously to boil chocolate, "why are you making Sasuke-kun candy?"

"It's a gift," was his clipped reply. He wasn't trying to be rude, but this cooking thing was hard!

"You know Sasuke-kun doesn't like sweets, right?" Sakura ventured carefully. She really didn't want to crush the ball of energy's spirit.

"I know."

Sakura raised her eyebrow, not sure how to continue after that kind of answer.

Sasuke stared into the bag and then stared quizzically at Naruto.

"I don't like sweets," the Uchiha said.

"Just taste it!" Naruto commanded.

Sasuke glared at his friend before popping one of the chocolates in his mouth. His eyes widened. The chocolate wasn't half bad.

"I made it bittersweet!" Naruto announced proudly.
