I.

Once upon a time there was a boy. He lived in a big house and his father was very important but the boy was not happy. A man found the bleeding boy and took care of him. The boy decided that the man would be his pet and stay with him forever. Then they lived happily ever after in a falling tower.

II.

Long fingers undoing buttons. A small sigh. The rustle of fabric as the jacket falls. Next the shirt, stained with blood at the cuff. Then follow the trousers. Now the dressing gown slips on soft and warm. A request is made for tea. The tea is drunk; the Earl slides off the dressing gown and sits on the bed. He opens his mouth to speak and….

III.

Sometimes people try to take him away from me. The first time the maid and the under butler collaborated but soon they learned the error of their ways. The maid died and the under butler was sent to prison for it. Really, if they couldn't get past me, they didn't deserve him in the first place.

IV.

They are beautiful aren't they? The fair one with glass in his back, hand rotted to bone and sinew. The dark one sitting on the other's lap, a gentle peaceful smile on his face.
