Summary: He could never forget what daddy did

"Junpei?"

He looked over his shoulder to the blue haired boy modestly covered by a thin sheet on the bed. The soft grey eyes scrutinized his back tracing long scars thick and ugly down to the hem of his pants. The right shoulder had been damaged worst, a tangled network of red and white lines. Junpei knew Minato was watching them. He was incredibly self-consious about the scars on his back but with the class field trip to Kyoto looming closer he knew it was a fear he would have to conquer. It wasn't so much fear as it was a constant reminder of his abusive father. Pain. hurt. Tears. Everything the bastard had ever brought with him. He would rather have Minato ask here in the privacy of their shared dorm room than out in the open around their classmates.

"Yeah?" He set his baseball cap on a dresser and came back to bed, shyly laying down atop his new boyfriend. Both blushed as their bodies met adjusting to the new feelings of vulnerability. It was strange to think of each other like this. Minato's fingers slowly mapped the countours of the other boy's back feeling along the scars and cuts. Junpei nestled into Minato's neck inhaling deep the warm scent of his lover blocking out the memories threatening to swallow him up.

"Where'd you... get these?" Minato turned Junpei to face him, kissing the scruffy chin. Junpei sighed and kissed the other boy gently.

"My old man... Remember I told you he was a drunk and all that...?"

"Yeah..." Minato's grip tightened around his shoulders. "If you don't want to tell me it's okay."

Junpei shook his head. "Nah, i'm fine babe..." He closed his eyes and forced himself to break the chains sealing the vault. Unearthed memories stung his eyes with angry tears. All the blood, the screams, the crying. Defending his mother by serving as her human shield.

Minato was silent while Junpei gathered his thoughts. Warm kisses fluttered across the taller boy's face, petting and nuzzling, letting Junpei know it was all okay. He wasn't there anymore. He was right here, in Minato's arms. Warm and safe and secure. There was no reason to cry anymore. He wasn't alone.

"My... dad.. went nuts after he lost all his savings. He started drinking and whatever. Getting slammed off of whatever he could find, including cookig oil! What kind of sick bastard gets drunk off cooking oil?!" Memories flooded Junpei's mind invoking sharp pain in his shoulder.

"One night... Mom and Dad got into a fight because of his drinking. Mom was saying how it wasn't good for me to be exposed to it and Dad was just being Dad. The fighting got.. worse and worse until they got to shouting. I was getting changed from baseball practice when I heard it and.. I ran in to see Dad grab a beer bottle ad go after Mom cowering in a corner..." A hand moved to self-consiously brush the scarred shoulder.

Minato kissed him quick. "It's okay Junpei..."

Junpei waved it off with a nod. "I ran in front of her and the bottle broke when it hit me.. Mom had to take me to the hospital to get all the glass out, it was pretty nasty. All the scars are from some tantrum of his in some form or another but that shoulder is the worst."

Minato nodded in understanding and coddled his boyfriend closer. Junpei was thankful for everything that SEES had given him. A new home, a new family. no booze and lies and bloodshed between those who were supposed to protect each other. This was hoime... This was safety. This was the only real family the broken child had ever known. Yet despite all his happiness there would always be those haunting memories clouding the back of his mind.

He could never forgive nor forget what Daddy did.
