"Yes?" I mumbled hearing the door knock.
"Katniss, dinner is ready" I assume the servant said.
"Okay" I replied back not bothering to move off the bed.
"And the others are waiting for you" She continued.
"Tell them to start, I will be there in a few minutes" I got up from the bed, looking one more time at the pregnancy test. Positive. Out of all the days and years why do I have to get pregnant just before the Quarter Quell? I threw the pregnancy test under the bed, well hidden. I then shoved on some comfy trousers and a yellow top. One by one I took out my braids in front of the bathroom mirror, leaving my hair down and wavy. I walked into the room where all the others had started eating.
"Ah, Katniss we all were going to plan a search party for you!" Haymitch said with a mouth full of food. I sat down next to Peeta while the others were talking, I looked at Peeta, the farther of my child, he smiled back until his face expressions realised something was wrong.
"You alright?" He asked. I nodded lightly.
"Right, I have a plan. We can tell everyone in the interview tonight that Katniss is pregnant" Haymitch suggested. Everyone started to shout out how much of a good idea it was.
"What! I'm not pretending to be pregnant" I said placing the bread onto the plate.
"Look, sweetheart people will feel sorry for you and do you know what that means? We will get more sponsors that will save our lives" Haymitch said picking up his glass to the servant to refill. Everyone then started talking again. I felt my face turn red. I got up suddenly everyone's attention was on me. I slowly started to walk away; I walked past my room and headed for the stairs that lead to the roof.
A few hours later I heard footsteps. It was the red haired Avox girl. She walked over to me and gave me a note saying: Haymitch is mad you have missed the interview.
"Okay" I whispered. The Avox girl then took my pregnancy test out of her pocket with a pen. She gently took the paper out of my hand and started to write and handed it back: You should tell him before tomorrow.
"I can't. He'll worry too much when we're in the Arena" I whispered. The Avox girl nodded and walked away.
"I should have helped you" I said. The Avox girl stopped and turned around. She nodded her head sideways.
"Katniss!" Peeta said surprised walking towards me. I looked back to the Avox girl but she was gone.
"You're not in Haymitch's good books right now" Peeta said sitting down.
"Did you tell everyone about my fake pregnancy?" I said looking down the building at the crowed.
"Yeah, look... it's the only way to save you"
"Well, you're wasting your time"
"Why?" Peeta asked confused
"You really think I'm going to survive this time" I said looking into his eyes deeply
"Yes" Peeta whispered "Peeta, you survive once not twice" I replied looking back at the crowed . I felt the glance of Peeta looking at the floor.
"Peeta?" I whispered
"Yeah?" Our eyes looked into each other's.
"I'm... I'm Petrified" I felt a tear roll down my face. Peeta leaned in that I could feel his hot chest.
"I know" He whispered.
