"Saved the best part for last, Darlin'. Now the trick with this kind of ring is to brace your feet on the ropes after jumping up instead of on the turnbuckle… that way, you won't fall and hurt yourself." Finn explained as Amanda gripped onto the ring ropes in the New Japan Pro Wrestling dojo before jumping up, feet braced on the ropes and Finn smiling in approval. "That a girl, you'll be back to those high flying moves in no time." He said as Amanda sat down on the top turnbuckle.

"Good to change things up… hey, where's Karl? He said he went to go get some old videos but that was about a half hour ago." Amanda responded as she climbed down with Finn's help, her body starting to ache from the warm up session.

"He did say they were down in the basement, god knows how big this place's basement is or how much stuff is in it… I haven't been here in years." Finn replied as the two headed over to sit on the benches.

"True. Anything can be down there." Amanda responded as she carefully moved her right arm, Finn seeing that she had some bruises on her shoulders and upper back from the body slams before grabbing an ice pack and pressing it to her skin. "Easy with me now…" She replied as Luke and Karl walked over with boxes of tapes.

"Nearly fell off the ladders to get these… you two were too rough with each other, weren't you?" Luke questioned.

"A little bit. But you won't extend your limits without pushing them first." Finn answered.

"Damn right." Karl said after putting the box down and opening it… and turned curious when he saw the years on the video labels.

"Karl, you okay?" Amanda asked.

"Yeah… I expected old tapes, but not… 1936 Olympics." Karl answered as he held up one of the tapes.

"That's going back about 80 years…" Amanda replied as she picked one up… and held it back, covering her mouth to sneeze as some dust got into her nose, Finn getting her to sit back down and lightly rubbing his hand up and down her back as Luke cleaned the tape off and put it in the VCR before pressing play.

The four watched intently as they saw that the woman was about the same height and age as Amanda but her hair and eyes were different… during the fourth tape, Finn turned to Amanda and rested his right hand on her left knee, snapping her out of her trance when he realised how quiet she had been.

"If I remember right from my history… she was cut off by less than a second between places, left with bronze rather than silver." Luke said as they watched the line of women getting ready to launch off on their 100 meter sprint, the woman similar to Amanda among them.

"Was it by one of the other runners or the judges?" Amanda asked.

"No one was ever sure about that, there could be other tapes that show what happened." Luke answered before the footage of the race stopped midway through.

"Whatever did happen, I remember that she became a missing person a while later, in 1952. Last ever time she was reported to be seen was getting on a tramcar in L.A in August that year." Karl replied.

At the hotel later, Amanda was stood underneath the showerhead as the warm water soothed her aching body and washing the lavender vanilla scented soap off… and her head snapped up suddenly when she heard a sharp noise.

Amanda turned the water off and wrapped the towel around herself after drying off, using the second towel to wring the water out of her hair… pulling on a pair of panties, she let the towel fall and pulled on her black fleece pajama pants and black cami before exiting the restroom… and Finn seeing the startled look on her face and walking over to her.

"You alright there? Looks like you disagreed with what you saw in the mirror." Finn questioned in a joking manner.

"Thought I heard something… wasn't sure what it was." Amanda answered as they sat down, Finn realising how serious she was and holding her close to him.

"Something got you freaked out… grainy old black and white pictures sometimes did that to me in the past." Finn replied.

"It's not easy at times to stay calm during those, whether they're real or fictional… gonna be a long time before I watch Psycho again." Amanda responded as they stretched out on the bed, Amanda tensing up slightly as she felt a twinge in her back and Finn lightly rubbing it to loosen the tightened muscle. "What if… she didn't go missing like Karl said that she did?" She asked as they looked at each other.

"If she turned up today? She'd probably be very confused about being 60 years in the future." Finn responded, after a moment of thought.

Amanda nodded in agreement and rested her head on Finn's shoulder, her eyelids feeling heavy despite that it was only 9:30 at night.

On the floor below their room, Karl closed his laptop and sipped his coffee.

"You really should ease up on the caffeine, pal. Any luck looking through the archives?" Luke responded.

"No… but Los Angeles was completely different in that era, there were so many deaths and disappearances that the police couldn't keep track." Karl answered.

"There were all over the world. There was no such thing as digital CCTV, no forensics or mobile phone tracking, none of it. Back then the police could do little more than you or I could now." Luke replied.

"And too many cases fell through." Karl said as he stood up. "I'm gonna go check on Mandy."

"I think she crashed out." Luke responded.

"It's not even 10pm… then again, today was exhausting." Karl replied.

"Yes it was… sometimes I worry about that kid." Luke said.

"Naturally, with what she's been through. Some would've given up on the industry by this point." Karl agreed with him.

"She's too damn strong to." Luke responded before glancing outside the window.

He had a feeling that there was a deeply buried secret out there.
