House Care

The turtles were in the living room of the Calls' house listening to Chloe's grandparents instructions on what needed to be done. Grandma and Grandpa Calls were going on a trip for a few days.

Eventually, Chloe's grandparents left the house. Just then, nine year old Chloe Calls came in wearing a heavy blanket and sat on the sofa.

"What's with the heavy blanket?" Raph asked.

"For some reason, I've been getting chills today," Chloe replied.

"You might be coming down with the flu," Donny said. "Any other symptoms you have aside from chills?"

"Headaches, sore throat, and I can't keep my food down," Chloe replied.

"Do your grandparents have any peppermint tea?"

"It's in the kitchen."

"I'll go make it right now," Leo volunteered and then left the room.

Donny put a hand on Chloe's forehead and then said, "You're burning up. I'll be right back."

Donny left the room and came back with a small medical kit a few minutes later. He checked to see how high Chloe's fever was and gave her a couple chewable children's Tylenol®.

"How bad is it?" Chloe asked.

"You're running a 102°F fever," Donny replied.

"I'll prepare a cold washcloth," Mikey volunteered.

Donny nodded and Mikey left the room. Donny made sure Chloe was comfortable and Mikey came back and put the cold washcloth on Chloe's forehead.

"Thanks, Mikey," Donny said gratefully.

"Happy to help," Mikey said with a grin.

Chloe snuggled under the blanket and fell asleep. The turtles quietly left the room so Chloe could sleep in peace.

The turtles were in the cat section of the Calls' house taking care of the cats. The cats were playing, eating, and drinking water and the turtles played with them.

"I'm hungry," Mikey said.

"We'd better get some food," Leo said.

"What about Chloe?" Raph asked.

"It's best that we let her sleep so she can get better," Donny said and the others nodded in agreement.

The turtles cleaned up the cat area. Then they left the room and headed for the kitchen.

Later that night, Leo, Raph, and Mikey were sleeping on an air mattress in the living room snuggled up together. Donny was checking to see if Chloe's fever had dropped.

"You're back down to normal," Donny informed Chloe.

"That's good," Chloe replied.

"Why don't you get some more sleep?"

"OK."

After making sure Chloe was comfortable, Donny joined his brothers, snuggled up with them, and fell asleep. Chloe glanced at the turtles snuggled up together and sleeping and suddenly she was sound asleep.

A couple days later, when Chloe was recovered from the flu, the turtles and Chloe were straightening up the living room. Just then, Chloe's grandparents entered the house.

"The place looks great," Grandma Calls commented.

"All of you did a marvelous job," Grandpa Calls chimed in.

"Thanks," Donny said.

"Call us anytime," Mikey said.

"We're always glad to hang with Chloe," Raph said with a smile.

"The feeling is mutual," Chloe said.

"We should head back home now," Leo said.

The turtles said goodbye to Chloe and her grandparents who thanked the turtles for house sitting and promised to see them soon. Then the turtles gathered their belongings and left the house.
