Disclaimer: Nope, Harvest Moon isn't mine.
Author's Note: I blame lack of sleep and Jamie's mad gender-bending skills for this. Mild Jill/Jamie and crack humor are ahead. Drabble.
AmbiguityJill nervously twirled the Blue Feather in her fingers as she sat cross-legged on her tiny bed. She felt almost silly for admitting it to herself, but lately, she'd been seeing Jamie as more than just a rival. She'd started to see him as a friend, and wanted to get closer to him. This could be her chance.
Carefully putting the feather into her pocket, the short farmer quickly exited her small cabin. She smiled slightly as she paused to look out at the ocean from her house—so the soil wasn't that great this close to the beach, but the view was amazing. Then, she hurried on towards town, hoping to run into Jamie.
Conveniently, she caught up to him in the town square. Jamie had his back turned to her, and was slowly putting a few packs of seeds into his pocket—obviously he'd just gone shopping. Quickening her pace, Jill tapped the other farmer on the shoulder.
"Hey, Jamie!" she said cheerfully.
"Hello, Jill," Jamie replied quietly, not bothering to turn around.
Frowning, Jill wondered if he was still sore about her trying to help the Harvest Goddess. Not letting herself be deterred, however, Jill cleared her throat again.
"So, Jamie," she started, pulling out the Blue Feather. "I have something I want to show you…"
Jamie finally turned around, and narrowed his eyes at the feather. Jill's pulse suddenly increased, and she wondered if she'd done something wrong.
"Jill, there's something I've been meaning to tell you," Jamie answered, sounding deadly serious.
"Y-yes?"
"You do know that I'm a woman… right?"
Jill's eyes widened in disbelief as Jamie turned away, whistling quietly and seeming totally casual with the admission.
