Hinatas hands trembled as she clenched the tiny red envelope in her hands as she watched from the safety of the ramen stall, waiting for her Valentine to come.
Yes, today was the day that all the happy couples on Earth gathered for a day of depression, angst and THEN love. At least that was Hinatas view on Valentines day.
For the past ten years Hinata was trying to pluck up the courage to give Naruto a valentine. After seeing her cousin Neji finally accept is not always an inevitability and kiss Tenten, Hinata decided to give Naruto her Valentine.
Shikamaru and I no walked by, holding hands. Hinata felt a lurch in her stomach as the happy couple walked by. She was sure that other couples were doing similar things.
Sasuke and Sakura were probably all cozeyed up in a cafe someplace, Neji and Tenten were at the Hyuuga manor doing only God knows what. Hinata had left before it got to graphic. Orochimaru and Kabuto: lets just say that Hinata could hear Kabuto's scream from Konoha. Tsunade andJiraiya were having a nice, quiet romantic day at the office. Even a Hokage needed a "break" if you know what I mean.
Hinata was snapped out of her thoughts by the sight of Naruto coming down the lane towards the ramen stall. Hinatas thoughts started to slur. She was starting to have second thoughts about giving Naruto a Valentine. After all, wasnt giving a Valentine like proclaiming your undying lovefor the recipient of the cheesy, uber-romantic cards, boxes of chocolate and the hope that they brought a condom? Thats what she was taught.
Hinata made her decision before she changed her mind. With her arms outstretched she briskly walked towards the blonde haired boy who she had cherished a secret burning passion. That would be Naruto.
"Happy Valentines day Hinata-chan!" Naruto proclimed. He held his hand out and revealed a small red envelope. Hinata gasped and turned a shade of red that rivaled the neon bright card in Narutos hand. Was Naruto proclaiming his eternal love for her by giving her a cheesy, uber-romantic card and the hope that she was on birth control? Yup.
"H-Happy Val-lentines d-day Naruto-k-kun," Hinata whispered, in complete shock. She held out her card for him and they exchanged Valentines.
Wanna get some ramen," Naruto asked. His hand outstretched and pointed at the ramen stall where Hinata was waiting for him.
"Y-yes N-Naruto-kun. T-That would be f-fine," Hinata stuttered. Naruto grabbed her hand and led her to the ramen stall where Hinata promptlyfainted.
G-o-S: Yes in this fic I displayed some of my ideas on Valentines day and how much of a corporate holiday it has become.
