A fly buzzed around the hanging coarse of a gecko before being shooed by a bloody hand. It flew away before returning almost immediately. The woman groaned before resuming back to skinning the large gecko. The woman stood close to six feet tall with short brown hair that rested on her shoulders.

Her white tang-top was stained with a few smear marks and droplets of blood. Her faded blue jeans also had a few droplets of blood, likely from the gecko she was skinning but maybe not. She didn't care.

Two dogs kept vigilante as their master gutted the oversized lizard. They occasionally whined, begging for anything that she would give them. One was a German Shepard that she named Shepard and the other one, a mutt, she called him Bastard.

"Stop whining you two." The woman named Mary said, wiping the sweat off her brow. She cut down from the gecko's chest to its hind legs. The entrails such as the intestines leaned out, giving off an unpleasant smell.

"Whoa, we got ourselves a smelly one." Mary said, pulling out the entrails and throw them to her dogs. Bastard, still skinny, fought Shepard for most of the intestines. A fight accrued before Shepard pulled a dick move and took off with most of it.

"Jeez Shepard, you are just a dick." Mary said, putting the heart and liver on a plate. "Maybe I should have called you Bastard." Mary said, pausing for a second before laughing.

After an hour, the gecko was cut into pounds of meat. What she or the dogs didn't eat will be turned into jerky with the rest of the meat.

Shepard's growl made Mary finger itch for her shotgun right then. Bastard joined in by barking. Mary pulled out the pistol from its holster from her side and turn around. A little girl with messy red hair and a dirty blue dress walked up to them, more like stumbled. Her face was stained by tears and she was holding a teddy bear to her chest.

"Shepard! Bastard! Enough!" Mary yelled. Both dogs obeyed her commend.

"Have you seen my mommy?" The little girl asked.

Mary felt her heartstring being pulled. She moved closer to the girl.

"No little one, I haven't." Mary said, lowering down to the girl's height. "What's your name red?"

"My name is Mary." The little girl said.

"Mary? Well, we sure the same name Mary. I'm going to call you Red, okay?" Mary asked.

The girl nodded and hugged her bear. Mary gave her a little smile before picking the girl up.

"Don't worry; I'll look after you for a bit." Mary said.
