Annabeth POV

I was sitting on Half-Blood hill when I first saw one. At first, I kind of freaked out because I thought it was a regular mortal. A regular mortal was not supposed to find or see Camp Half-Blood. Ever.

But then I realized that the mortal was walking abnormaly slow, and seemed to be limping.

I continued to watch the person as they succesfully crossed the camp border.

Okay, new camper, then.

But thats when I realized, the person only had one eye, and was oozing blood from its mouth. It's shirt was soaked with blood, and it was moaning loudly. Almost making a gurgling sound.

I didn't scream, but I did yell.

"HOLY HADES!"

The thing was geting closer, and I hopped up onto my feet.

I pulled out my knife and began to walk towards it.

The sight was disgusting.

I didn't want to kill it, not yet knowing what it was.

I walked closer to examine it, and it grabbed me.

That's when I screamed.

That's also when I realized that it was trying to bite me.

Oh gods. The moaning, the appearence, the fact that it was trying so hard to bite me.

Zombie.

I kicked the thing in the chest, and it flew backwards.

That's when I heard a shout.

"Annabeth!"

It was Percy, and he sounded frantic.

"What is that thing?!"

"I- I'm not totally sure, but its trying to eat me!"

The zombie made another gurgling sound as it walked towards me.

I began to back up, unsure of what to do.

And then Percy was next to me.

He pulled back his sword, and thrust it right through the zombie's head.

Blood spurted everywhere, and something slimy and green began oozing out as well.

The sight was so disgusting, and the green stuff smelled so bad, that I bent over and vomited.

Percy rubbed my back as I hacked up my lunch.

When I was done, I wiped my mouth and stood up straight.

"This thing smells." I moaned, as Percy turned his sword back into a pen and stuck it in his pocket.

My legs were wobbly from all of the barfing, and Percy bent over.

I hopped onto his back and he began to carry me towards the big house.

My hands were sweaty, and tears were threatening to spil.

I was 18, and if what I had just seen was what I thought it was, I was really screwed.

I had had it all worked out. I'd tell Percy tonight, and I knew he'd be happy. And we'd keep it a secret, as long as possible, and then all our friends would be happy for us, when we told them. And... and my life would finally be okay.

But if that was a zombie, how could I bring a child into a world like that?
