Hey,... This one is a request by Fandom8 to include the song Here Without You by Three Doors Down. Sorry I couldn't have Skye hypnotized as planned. I tried and could only do it if it was angst. And I don't really like doing that. But, I hope you like this one. The lyrics are in italics.

Thank you everyone for your reviews and favourites. Lab Kids Kickin It Luver and SkyeWardShipper? Thank you.

Disclaimer : I do not own Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Or the song, Here Without You by Three Doors Down, used in this ff.

Summary : Skye misses Ward.

xox

"A hundred days have made me older, since the last time that I saw your pretty face."

"I would love to see the look on your SO when he hears you call him 'pretty' to his face."

"But all the miles that separate.."

"Wasn't there some lines about a thousand lies and being colder and not be able to look -" Fitz interrupted Skye's singing again and was shown a palm by the Hacker who was lying on the examination table in the lab, signaling him to be quiet.

"Shhh!" Skye shushed him before continuing, "Disappear now that I'm dreaming of your face."

"Yeah right! Dreaming of Ward telling you that push-ups and sit-ups will forever be banned in your workout routine. You keep dreaming Skye. Not going to happen."

"I'm here without you, baby.."

"The man will probably have a fit if he knows you are calling him 'baby'."

"But you're still on my lonely mind.."

"Ahhh! That explains the current wallpapers and screensavers on your phone and laptop of your 'baby's' face." Fitz huffed before adding, "And could you take the picture of him off the bathroom mirror. It is kind of weird to have him smirking down on me when I'm in my towel, er, brushing my teeth."

"I think about you baby. And I dream about you all the time."

"So the reason why you were late in giving Coulson that info that he asked for, had nothing to do with you having trouble hacking into the system, was it? You were just awestruck by the wallpaper on your laptop, right? Couldn't find the heart to change the page and not see his face even for a second."

"And tonight, it's only you and me."

"There you go missing lines again! And sorry to break it to you, Sister, but tonight it's not you and Ward. But you, Simmons and me. We are watching that new movie remember?" Fitz pointed out to Skye.

"Simmons?"

"Yes, Skye?"

"That medic pod we have back there? Does it float?"

"It was designed to." Simmons replied. "Why?"

"Would you really miss Fitz if I were to push him into it and flush him into the ocean, right now?"

"Well," Simmons straighten away from the work she was doing and bit her lip in wonder before answering. "Hmmm. Maybe. I don't know. But I might miss him after about two and a quarter hours because that's when I need him to help me with the popcorn and sandwiches for our movie tonight."

"Simmons!" Fitz gasped. "I don't believe you just said that!"

Both Simmons and Skye giggled at the pout he gave. Skye gave a dramatic sigh when the giggling ended and she turned on her stomach on the examination table in the lab. FitzSimmons were working on their new invention as they hear Skye's singing and lamenting on her missing her SO.

"I'm bored. I wish Ward is back here. At least I have someone else to talk to. Someone else to do things with when you guys are busy tinkering away."

"Someone else to beat in Battle Ship, you mean."

"Yeah," Skye pointed at Simmons. "That too."

"That's true, actually." Fitz agreed. "The part about having Ward back here. There is something odd about not having him around. It is too quiet."

"But even when he was around, the man was quiet, Fitz."

"True. But at least we hear sounds of grunts, groans and occasionally, babbling, when a certain rookie irritates the hell out of him, out there on the loading bay." Fitz tilted his head towards the area outside the lab where Ward trained Skye.

"Hey! I resent that remark!" Skye defended herself.

"The only reason you resented that remark is because you resemble that remark." Simmons told her.

"You two are ganging up against me. And I have no one to back me up. I want my Robot back!" Skye wailed dramatically. "I need my Tin Can!"

"Tin Man." Fitz corrected her.

"Oh shut up." Skye threw a cotton ball at him.

"Hey. Wait a minute." Simmons added, "Skye, I thought you said you are happy to have no one waking you up at 5.30 every morning."

"Yeah," Skye answered as she sat up and sat cross legged on the bed. "But at least Turbo won't lock himself up in his room like the way May hides in the cockpit or AC in his office when I talked to him."

"That's because you talked non-stop and asked your thousand questions every time you see them." Simmons told her.

"Yeah, same as I do Turbo. But still, he doesn't hide in his room." Skye insisted.

"That's because you know how to override the man's door code." Fitz said. "Why don't you over ride May's or Coulson's door code?"

"Are you kidding?" Skye smacked Fitz arm as he walked by her to retrieve a part for his new gun. "AC would probably cuff me with another internet nanny for the rest of my life. And May? That woman is scary. I rather stay in Ward's dog house than have her even look at me. You think Coulson could pull some strings to rope him back soon?"

"If you can get the Boss to come out of hiding." Fitz smirked. "Did you see him hurry to the bathroom when he thought Skye was busy doing her research, yesterday?"

"You think he is avoiding me?" Skye asked.

"That is a possibility." Fitz replied.

"I want my SO back." Skye started wailing again.

"Well, you have us." Simmons patted Skye's hand.

"I know." Skye smiled at her friend. "But. Don't get me wrong but riling you two is not as fun as riling the Robot. I miss him. I want my Turbo back!" Skye groaned and fell back on to the examination table. "I'm here without you baby. But you're still with me in my dreams. Tonight -"

"Ugh! There she goes singing that song again." Fitz rolled his eyes.

"Hmmm," Simmons bit her lips as she looked at her friend who was still singing on the examination table. "Maybe we should do something to keep her mind off Ward."

"What?" Fitz asked as he noticed Simmons' sudden smirk. "What shenanigans do you have in mind?"

"The questions is Fitz," Simmons lowered her voice as she leaned towards her partner, "Are they good or bad shenanigans?"

A week later....

"Did you miss me?"

Ward was greeted by the question as soon as walked up the ramp of the Bus. He saw Skye standing in the middle of the loading bay waiting for his reply. He sighed and walked pass her.

"No."

"Ouch! That hurts!" Skye said dramatically upon hearing his reply and started to follow him up the spiral stairs.

"By the fact that I didn't miss you?"

"No. By the fact that you took less than two seconds to say it. I mean you could have at least pretended to ponder on it for a few seconds more."

"Why should I?"

"Ugh! You are hopeless in this relationship that we are in!"

"We are in a relationship?"

"Damn right we are."

Ward stopped walking when he reached the door of his room. He was about to open it but dropped his bag at his feet instead. He then turned to face Skye when he felt her finger jabbing his back. "Listen Skye," he sighed. "The only relationship we are in, is a professional one. Me, your Supervising Officer. And you, my Rookie."

"Yup. That's exactly the kind of relationship we are in." Skye nodded her head. "You, The Mighty SO and me, your obedient shadow."

"I'm glad we've agreed on that. There is no way for any other kind of relationships between us. We have nothing in common. We even see the world differently. Well, maybe the only thing we have in common is that we drive each other crazy." Ward suddenly raised his finger when he saw Skye about to interrupt him, "Let me correct that. YOU drive me crazy. So see? We really have nothing in common."

"But even if us not seeing the world the same way or have nothing in common, like the fact that, I'm fun and you are," Skye jabbed her finger into the middle of his chest, "Firm. That doesn't mean that you can't miss me. You've been away since September. Now it's the middle of December. That makes it exactly a hundred and twelve days days that you've been away! You must have missed me for two seconds, at least! Even Peter Pan missed his shadow!"

"You know what?" Ward grasped her hand that was jabbing his chest and held it against the front of his shirt. "That's where you are wrong Rookie. It has been a hundred and twelve days, fifteen hours, twenty-six minutes and seventeen seconds, since I left you on that ramp. Being undercover needed me to keep my wits about me. There was not a second that I could spare to think of my stubborn and exasperating Rookie that still can't tell the difference between the safety release and the magazine release since the moment I left her. Or if she is still in one piece by the time I get back. Or how happy she must be for not having someone to toss her out of bed at 5.30 every morning! Or if she gulps down a gallon of soda instead of a glass of some healthy concoction, every morning like I told her to!"

"Drinking your so called healthy concoction makes me feel like a cow! I don't eat or drink grass!"

"It's wheatgrass, Rookie. Not the kind of grass that cows chew on!"

"Whatever!" Skye opened her fist in his grasp to lay her hand flat against his chest. "Well, you know what?"

"What?"

"I didn't miss you either. I have better things to do than moping around missing you! So don't think that I, even for a freaking minute - " Skye started to say but was interrupted by Coulson standing behind her.

"Are you two at it again?" The Director asked. "It hasn't even been five minutes since Ward got in."

"Hey AC." Skye said and moved away from Ward when he released her hand.

"Sir." Ward nodded at the older man.

"Ward." Coulson acknowledged the Specialist's greeting before turning to the Hacker. "I thought you'd be happy now that your SO has returned, Skye."

"Yeah. Whatever. Welcome back Robot, Sir." Skye replied before rolling her eyes as she walked away from the two men.

Coulson took his eyes off Skye and turned his gaze towards Ward. The younger Agent was staring at Skye with a frown marring his brow.

"She missed you."

Ward turned to his superior when he heard the statement.

"I find that hard to believe, Sir."

"You find that hard to believe that she missed you," Coulson smirked as he started to walk away, "Or find it hard to believe that you actually missed her too?"

"Sir? I don't - "

"Sure you don't." Coulson smiled. "I'm glad you are back Agent Ward. The children have been restless without you."

"Children?"

"FitzSimmons. Plus your Rookie, of course."

"They two of them can't be that bad."

"Have I mentioned adding your Rookie to the equation? You have no idea what they've been up to. Or what May and I have been up against. Which reminds me, I need to install a bathroom in my office."

Ward smiled at the senior Agent's sigh and proceeded to open his door. He halted when he heard Coulson said, "And about your room - "

"My room?" Ward asked, "What about it, Sir?"

"Just remember that she was missing you. And they were just helping her."

"They, Sir?"

"Yes. They." Coulson said and walked away.

Ward couldn't figure out what the elder man meant until he opened his door.

He felt like he was shot four times in the chest.

"SKYE!"

"Didn't know the Dude could yell that loud." Fitz said when he, Simmons and Skye heard Ward yelling for Skye.

"Oh oh! Someone is going to get it."

"What do you mean 'someone', Simmons? You were the one that suggested we should do something to spice up Ward's homecoming."

"I was trying to get your mind off him. Something to occupy you with. But I didn't mean we should redecorate his room in purple!"

"It would have been yellow if Coulson hadn't kept the whole stack of his writing pad in his drawer and letting May hold the key." Skye replied in all innocence.

"Yes. Besides, not everything was in purple." Fitz supported Skye. "We ran out of purple post-its for the ceiling, remember? But the empty spaces does give that cloudy white effect. Pretty artistic, if you ask me."

"Yes." Skye added, "And don't forget, we also ran out of purple plastic wrapper and had to wrap his second pillow in aluminum foil. By the way, where did you get that deep purple duck tape, Fitz? It looked awesome against the lilac wrapper that we used to wrap his bedside lamp and all his books."

"Ahhh! Thank you. I got it from that little shop when we were in - "

"Hello!" Simmons waved her hands between her two friends to get their attention. "I hear Ward stomping down the stairs! You better think of a good excuse Skye!"

"Why me?"

"Because Simmons can't lie." Fitz offered.

"We could always say that you guys were doing some experiment on hypnosis and it didn't go as planned."

"Hypnosis?!" Simmons hissed. "Really?!"

"Or we could always distract him." Skye started smirking.

"With what? Telling him how gorgeous his head is?" Fitz snorted. "Or how dark and tailored his hair is."

"Is that jealousy I hear?" Skye wagged her finger at Fitz. "Was that why you wanted me to take his picture off the bathroom mirror?"

"People! He is getting nearer!" Simmons whispered in panic. "Quick! Think of something!"

"I know!" Skye chirped with her eyes wide with an idea. "We could always pull a Sitwell on him."

"You mean, shoot him in the chest?" Simmons croaked.

"Only with a ICER." Skye added, "Set the power to lower than you did your gorgeous headed Jaspie. The T-1000 will be ok."

"But he will be bloody mad." Fitz pointed out.

"True." Skye replied with a growing smile. "But look on the bright side."

"What bright side?" FitzSimmons spoke in unison.

"From what I know, when Ward gets mad he'll try to control his emotions and keep it in until he turns purple!"

"So?"

"So, at least he'll match his room!"

"Maybe we should just try to hypnotize Ward into thinking that he loves the colour purple."

"Much as I know that I should not encourage you to explain further and thereby implicating us into more trouble than we already are, my curious mind just refuse to obey my instinct." Fitz grumbled as he looked down at Skye from a step ladder. "So, just tell me why we should hypnotize the Dude."

"Because it may take a shorter time to hypnotize him than us having to do all this unsticking, unwrapping, unlacing, unwinding, untying and not to forget having to place everything back on their proper places and order. And how do we change his white and black tees that we dyed purple back to its original colours?" Skye complained. "Simmons, you are a doctor, don't you know anything about hypnotism?"

"If I did, I would have just hypnotized you into not ever knowing or hearing that song you've been singing before, so you can't sing it. Instead of trying to occupy you with something to get your mind off your dear SO." Simmons replied.

Five minutes later...

"Hey! I know!" Skye suddenly said after unwrapping another book.

"Now what?" Fitz groaned as he reached out to the corners of the ceiling to pluck out the post-its that he had stuck there a week ago.

"You think if we hypnotize Ward - "

"Which part of 'I do not know how to hypnotize" do you not understand, Skye?" Simmons uttered breathlessly from trying to fold the plastic sheet that was three times her size that they had used to cover Ward's bed.

"Ok. Forget hypnosis." Skye rolled her eyes before adding, "How about we jab him with the truth serum?"

"Why would you want to do that?" Simmons sighed.

"I just want to know if there was any song that the Robot might have thought of or hum to. While he was away. Away from me. Us."

"You just want to know if the Man pined for you like you did him that had you serenading us non-stop with that song of yours." Fitz said pointedly at Skye.

"You just have to be a genius, don't you?" Skye threw at him when he stepped off the ladder to keep the post-its in a box.

Fitz gave her a wink before continuing with, "Anyway, I'm glad Ward is back. Or I don't know how much more I can take you singing that song again and again."

"What song?" Skye asked before grinning and adding "Oh! You mean this one?" Skye grabbed handfuls of Fitz's hair to hold his head and began singing in his ear loudly. "I'm here without you baby! But you are still in my dreams! Tonight! There's only you and me!"

"Simmons! Make her stop!"

Later that night, Skye stomped down the stairs to the meet Ward in the loading bay. He had told her, after dinner, that he needed to show her a new move and didn't give her time to argue before walking away.

She saw him standing in the middle of the mat with his hands behind his back. He tilted his head to signal her to come closer. Skye complied and stood in front of him. He suddenly he whipped his hand from behind to surprise her with a sudden attack to the side of her neck. Which she managed to block immediately.

"This is the new move that you want to show me?" Skye asked after several moments of looking at him. "Hate to tell you, but this is nothing new. We've done this before - "

"I know." Ward whispered as he let his hand rest on her shoulder. "But this time is different."

"Different how?"

"Because there was always FitzSimmons in that lab, watching us. Or Coulson up there," he looked up towards the top of the stairs before continuing, "with May, making sure that I don't sugar coat your training just because you are not an Agent. There was always someone around. And - "

"And?" Skye asked when Ward suddenly let his words hung.

Moving his hand slowly up her shoulder towards her neck, he tenderly cupped her jaw and pulled her closer towards him. He then leaned forward and sang softly in her ear.

"And tonight, Girl, there is only you and me."
