The woman walked with a purpose. She knew that if she didn't rush, if she didn't make it on time all would be lost.
As she got closer to her destination the hair on her arms stood on end. The ground shook under her feet as she tried to propel herself faster.
She turned the last corner and came face to face with double doors that hung crooked. She raced forward and burst through the doors.
SUddenly everything stopped, the ground no longer shook, the only noise was her heavy breathing and the mucousy sound of a newborn baby.
She was scared, petrified for she knew whence the baby came. She knew that child, creature was an abomination.
Inching slowly forward she saw the sweaty site of her sister holding a struggling bundle of blankets,
As she got closer she noticed the alabaster skin of the baby, unlike anything she had ever seen before.
She managed to catch sight of the baby;y face. The child had dark wet curls atop its head. For a second she let out a breath of relief. Maybe just maybe the baby was normal.
Though suddenly the child turned its head towards her and focused its eyes on her. Although her eyes were not blue like her kind, they were red.
Racing forward she reached out and ripped the child from her sister's arms. Immediately the child grew agitated and began to scream. Again the ground shook. The exhausted new mother flung herself forward, reaching for her newborn baby.
"Irma please, she is just a baby. Would you really destroy something innocent?"
" Marina this child has no soul, for goodness sakes its eyes are red. As long as this child ives we all are in danger. This child does not have our blue eyes or skin that is golden. It is alabaster, it sparkles and shines. If this child was to stay she would never belong. Questions would be asked, the peace would be jeopardized. Everything would be jeopardized.
Irma, the eldest of the two continued to hold the struggling child. The strikingly white skin a vast change compared to Irma's golden hue.
Marina was now reaching forward, compelled as a mother was to hold her crying child.
"Irma… please. She's just a baby.
The two sisters looked at each other for what seemed like forever. Time stood still until suddenly Irma was brought to her knees, screaming in agony.
Marina rushed forward and grasped her baby to her chest. Without looking to her sister to see if she was alright she turned and dashed out the crooked doorway.
Running, she ran into what could be described as a makeshift nursery. She quickly placed the child into a basket with a handle and covered er with a blanket.
Gripping the basket she ran down the hallway and out to a beautifully kept courtyard. In the center of the courtyard was a silver lake. Racing forward she gently moved the blanket from the child's face and bent forward to kiss the baby's forehead. She then continued to place the basket upon the silver lake.
Reaching up to her neck she gripped a necklace with a glowing vile on it and placed it on the baby girl. With one last strong shove she pushed the floating basket onto the lake and waiting until it passed through the portal and disappeared.
"Good luck Isabella."
