"Jack, it's coming..."

Prologue:

It had been a year and a half since Peggy, Jack, and Daniel had taken in Ivchenko and, sadly, lost track of Dottie. Who, by the way, has been hiding in England with a new alias.

But within this past year much has changed at the SSR. Daniel had been set up on a date with Angie and they hit it off. They were only dating for about five months when Daniel decided it was time to pop the question. Angie was hesitant at first because she

wasn't quite ready to give up her dream of being an actress quite yet, but she loved being with him so she accepted.

It took much perseverance from Jack but he managed to get Peggy to accept a date with him. Their courtship started two months after the capture of Ivchenko. And the rest history. They were together for about 7 months when Jack proposed, and Peggy accepted. They had only been married a month when Peggy realized she was pregnant.

Jack, who had taken the title of chief since Dooley's death, wanting to protect Peggy and their unborn child told her once she started showing she should not go out into the

field. Peggy was at first shocked by this but realized it would be much safer.

Chapter 1

This was the month. And Peggy was a little scared about this. She

hadn't ever really been around babies before, but she was up to the

challenge.

Angie and Peggy had become very close and Angie would come over

often to keep Peggy company.

"Pegs aren't you excited!?" Angie said with excitement as she walked into Peggy's apartment. "I'm actually very interested to see you two as parents." She stated as she sat down on the couch.

"Of course I'm excited," Peggy said walking over to Angie. "I'm just also a little

afraid as to if I'll be a proper mother." Peggy placed a gentle hand on her

stomach.

"Pegs, don't talk like that. You and I know you'll be a great mom!" Angie said getting up to hug her friend. "Now you said you had a few more things to pick up before a little one gets here."

"Right, and the boys said they wanted to meet us for lunch." Peggy said as she grabbed her coat. And with that the two ladies were out the door.

That morning at the SSR had gotten a tip that Dottie had been spotted and was on her way back to America. Her ship is due to dock this afternoon.

All the men were in the meeting room coming up with an ambush plan.

"Sousa, your group will spread out amongst the crowd. You two," he said pointing to two men in the room. "I'm counting on you men to follow her...from a safe distance. You must remain unnoticed."

The men acknowledged him with a nod of the head. And just as Jack was going to

turn back to the board with the map of the town on it he noticed Peggy outside

the window and smiled.

She lightly waved at him and started walking towards the door to the room.

"Pardon me gentlemen, but may I steal my husband for a moment?" Peggy asked with her smile. All the gentlemen nodded and grunted in agreement - What else could they say? Not only was the wife of the chief but also one of the top agents of the SSR - and they dispersed, using this moment for a break. Jack walked over and kissed her on the forehead and grabbed her hands. "I'm sorry we are going to have to move our lunch date, we got a tip on Dottie."

Peggy's eyes lit up with determination, the same look she got before they acted upon a lead or a mission. "Really? We have to get her, how can I help?"

Jack looked at Angie, who looked back at him with a look of shock, she wasn't expecting Peggy to say that. "Pegs, you are nine months along, I don't think that safe." Angie said coming over to her side.

"I...am aware of that," Peggy started, remembering the promise she gave jack. "I just feel like I should be a part of this, I was with this case from the beginning and I feel I need to be there to finish it." She said with her voice trailing into defeat.

"And you have a vulnerability that I'm sure Dottie would take advantage of the minute she'd see you." Jack said hoping that would be enough to talk her out of it. Peggy's face frowned with understanding as she nodded. "But I still want to sit in on the meeting." Peggy said with her usual confidence.

"And I need to say hello to my fiancé." Angie said as she linked arms with Peggy. "It's still exciting to say that." She said softly to Peggy as they walked toward Daniel.

Daniel greeted Angie with a kiss and Peggy with a hug. "Any day now huh?" He said to Peggy with a smile. "I wonder if Thompson will soften up once he becomes a dad." Daniel joked trying to be quiet.

"I heard that Sousa." Jack shouted from one of the desks. Their laughing was cut short by Peggy's groan of pain. "Ugh!" She said placing her hands on her stomach. Angie placed an arm around her friend as Daniel pulled out chair for her to sit down. "That's been the worst one so far." Peggy said, sitting down in the chair.

"Maybe I should take you to the hospital Pegs." Angie said with concern. Peggy shook her head and said, "No, no. I'm fine- ow!" she said again this time loud enough for Jack to hear. He came into the room with urgency and worry.

"Pegs, what's wrong?" Jack asked kneeling in front of her, gently placing a hand on her check. "Are you alright?" Peggy Looked at him trying to ignore the pain and nodded. She then turned to look at Angie.

"Angie will you help me up I need to powder my nose?" Peggy said trying to get out of the chair. Jack and Angie helped her up and as soon as she was on her feet something didn't feel right. And then it hit her.

"Jack," She turned to him. "My water broke."

Sorry for all the exposition, but I hope it made sense. Reviews and comments are welcome!
