Looking out the window of the hospital, everything seemed so surreal. The rain pounding on the glass blurred the headlights of passing traffic on the street below. It was dark, save for the soft glow of light pouring beneath his door. But despite the darkness, there was no blackness. The generic white of the walls would not allow it. It was just a pale, sickly blue. Yukimura was not one to look for irony in things, much less find it amusing, but he couldn't help but smirk at this. He caught himself vaguely wondering if the color did not make the patients even more sick. State of mind could effect your physical health. He shook the thoughts quickly from his head and returned his gaze to the blury image painted by the rain against the glass. He reached out to touch it, pressing his palm flat against it. It was cold, but he didn't mind. Cold had always soothed him.

Genichirou was cold. Not in personality, not really. Not to Seiichi. Seiichi could see through it, he knew he was gentle beneath it all. Kind, and gentle. But his skin, it was cool. Not that Seiichi had touched much of it. He only remembered one particular time, when he felt discouraged. Genichirou was there, he had held his hand. They hadn't spoken, and finally, Genichirou left. The door shut. Seiichi cried.

After that, his resolve had not wavered again. He had been quietly determined, as was his nature. He was willing to give his all to this, to keep his promise to one person. Genichirou was more important to him than anything else in the world.

He smiled, softly this time, and gazed once again out the window. The rain had slowed to the drizzle, and if you looked the right way, the clouds had parted just so, and one could catch a glimpse of the crescent moon. He wondered if, and maybe even hoped, Genichirou was looking at the moon right now, as well. He chided himself for thinking such a cliched thought, but couldn't erase the warm feeling in his chest. He slid back down into the sheets and closed his eyes, dreaming of rain, of the moon, and of a comforting, cool touch.
