It had been different for her than the others. She knew that more than she would admit, well to the others anyway. She missed her home dearly, missed it with a passion that these last few months had taken away from some of them. She wanted to go home and hold him in her arms again, kiss him again. She wanted to know what he felt like under her fingers and to know that he still loved her. She had water back there, not this much, oh no, not nearly as much but there was water. She remembered climbing out of it, droplets landing on the concrete around her bare feet. It had felt like heaven the way they slid over her body, the way they caught on her suit.

"Dr. Weir?"

Elizabeth had found someone new to love, someone that she could hold in her hands and watch as they shivered under her. When she was near her the passion that she missed her home with dissipated. It disappeared with the smile that was on her loves face.

"Teyla."

She looked out to the water again, the shield up and running. It was a good feeling to know that nothing could go wrong too soon. She watched as the small waves hit the shield and disappeared. It amazed her how you could still feel the wind through it, it made her feel at home.

"What are you thinking?"

Liz looked over to Teyla; she's leaning on the wall next to the door. It made Liz smile every time she saw Teyla do this, she was relaxed, and it was a rare thing to see.

"Home."

Teyla pushed off the wall with her back and walked up to Liz, she was at ease, slowly walking up to her.

"Tell me about your home."

Liz liked Teyla, liked her a lot. She always believed it was because they both had a need to find out about things. Her mother always warned her that 'curiosity killed the cat and will do the same to you one of these days'. She never liked it when her mother talked like that.

"Well... it's got lots of water, lots of people. A place I call my own, which I share willingly with the one I love. I can get called to work at anytime..."

Teyla moved to stand next to Liz, she sighed, her eyes closed. Liz saw her imagination running wild behind her eyelids. Liz moved closer to her, to touch her even a little made her heart beat faster.

"It's not too big, but not too small either. I can always have something to do, someone to talk to. It's a different world for me though, a new place."

Teyla opened her eyes at that. She saw Liz looking at her and smiled, a smile only Liz got to see.

"You are not talking about your home, Elizabeth."

Liz smiles and stands in front of Teyla, she takes her loves hands in hers and smiles.

"No? How do you know?"

"You are talking about Atlantis."

Liz nods, that's true, and not at the same time. As she's told Teyla before, there are lots of things that are the same from here to Earth. But many things remain unique.

"Of course I am."

She pauses, leans forward, her mouth next to Teyla's ear. She feels Teyla shiver under her and she smiles.

"Atlantis iis/i home."

Teyla's arms wrap around her body and tighten.

"Our home."

Liz nods and moves out of Teyla's grasp. She stands next to her new love, hand in hand, looking at their home.

When Carson turns the corner and sees the two watching the city all he can do is smile. They're beautiful together, and happy. He turns around, he'll tell the others of his findings first. It isn't that important anyway.

The End
