Helping Hand
(This little drabble is inspired by a scene that I noticed in the episode 'Mutiny in the Bounty'. There was a brief moment where Jessie and James were holding hands, and I came up with an idea of why that was. With that out of the way, hope you enjoy!)
Ash, Jessie and James looked around to find that they had landed on Hunter J's aircraft: the three had grabbed onto the car which flew up to the aircraft so they could find Pikachu, Meowth and Gardevoir who had been abducted by Hunter J.
After checking to make sure that no one saw them, Ash let go of the bottom of the car and crawled out while Jessie and James watched. Ash then got up on his feet and turned to Jessie and James, almost like he was telling them to follow him without actually saying it. The two then nodded in agreement and let go of the car so they dropped on the floor and crawled out to follow Ash. James got out without any hassle like Ash did, but Jessie stopped about halfway and turned to find that she had gotten stuck underneath the car. She struggled to pull herself out for a few seconds before she lay back down on the floor and sighed in annoyance: she was stuck.
James turned to see Jessie's predicament and went back over to her, and then he bent down to her height and offered her his hand. Jessie turned her head to see this and then she looked up to see James smiling at her; he was offering to help pull her out from under there.
Jessie stared at James in silence for a few moments, before she nodded and took her hand in his. With that, James pulled her out from under the car and got her up on her feet. Jessie then showed a smile grateful for James's help, and he couldn't help smiling back.
But then the two turned to see that Ash was already walking off ahead, so they turned to follow him without letting go of each other's hands.
