~Magica Reunion~

The night is dark and solemn for three people, seeing as how it is filled with despair that seems to be endless. But then, hope appears. It shines almost as brightly as the sun for a moment, before it conjugates to form what can only be described as a divine being, a god. Long, turquoise hair frames her face and extends outwards in several directions, held together only by two white ribbons. Eyes open wide, revealing themselves to be a glittering gold. She is gussied up in a extremely long white gown that is actually very befitting for a goddess such as herself, for if one looks closely enough they will notice that it appears to hold the universe within its folds. Her facial features form into a serene smile as she descends from Heaven towards the Earth below. Two of the figures watch the goddess descend in awe and then glance at each other, speaking in hushed voices while the other sleeps soundly, unaware of the spectacle that is happening above her.

"Luka-chan…" The goddess—who was at one time known as Hatsune Miku—whispers softly. She gazes down at her beloved with so much joy.

Although the person she is meeting is not a god like herself, she is not entirely human either. The strangely egg-shaped jewel resting on her chest, unnaturally pink and nearly black in hue, cracked and at the breaking point, serves as evidence. However, if one looks past that they can see that she looks like any other girl. Long hair the color of roses and fair skin that would almost look flawless from a distance are perfect examples of that. But Miku doesn't care about those little tidbits. All she cares about is Luka. The smile on her face turns solemn as she moves to plant a kiss on the pinkette's forehead.

"I can't believe I forgot about you, Luka-chan." Miku murmurs. "But I remember now. Everything's going to be just fine from now on, I promise."

Luka's blue, blue eyes flutter open slowly at the sound of Miku's voice. Because she is still quite drowsy from all that she has been through, however, she doesn't really know what's happening. She takes notice of Teto and Meiko first, who are staring at something unseen, expressions of pure joy on their faces. After that she sees the heavenly light above, glowing and warm and so very welcoming. And then… and then… Her gaze fixes on her.

Miku.

The one she has wanted to see again for so long.

"I'm so sorry that it took me so long, but I'm here now." Miku promises, smiling down at her beloved, who merely stares at her as though she is afraid that if she looks away for but a single second she'll disappear again.

Is this… is this a dream? Luka wonders to herself. Tears form in her eyes at the thought, and it takes all the willpower she has to not embarrass herself by bursting into tears loudly and agonizingly. It has to be. It's too good to be true.

"M-…Miku…!" She chokes out, just barely managing to stifle a sob when a gloved hand reaches out to wipe her tears away.

Her special one smiles sadly at her distress, and then pulls her into a gentle hug. Unfortunately, that it what does it for Luka. Upon feeling her touch the pinkette suddenly and inexplicably begins to bawl openly, letting out all of the pain, all of the despair, all of the misery that has afflicted her for so long. And she doesn't stop. She can't stop.

If Miku is bothered by how upset Luka is, she doesn't show it. She just keeps holding her, offering her comfort when she needs it.

"I'm so sorry, Luka-chan. You've waited for me for such a long time, but like I said, it's going to be okay from now on." Miku whispers soothingly into the pinkette's ears. "We're going to be together forever."

Eventually, Luka is able to cease crying, and calms down. She pulls away from Miku a little, but only so that she can meet her gaze.

"You…" Luka starts to speak, but quickly finds herself getting choked up again. She takes a moment to regain her composure, and then gives a watery smile. "You have no idea how long I've waited for this moment."

At that, Miku just giggles, a twinkle appearing in her eye. "Actually, I do." She says, her voice tinged with jocularity.

Luka just stares at her, unsure of what she just said and somewhat confused. She peers into her eyes, and in them can see just how truthful that statement was, how much them being apart has affected her. A dozen emotions flood through her afterwards. Then the tears come again, however this time they are the happy kind. But she doesn't stop them. She lets them flow freely.

In the beginning, when they had been separated from each other, she had wished for this moment, for Miku to be there by her side, not stuck as some cosmic force whose sole purpose is to save magical girls like herself from despair for all of eternity. Then her desire turned into longing, and longing turned into desperation until finally it became nothing but crushing despair. No matter how hard she had wished, nothing had brought Miku back.

But now she is here—really here—and Luka is absolutely terrified. She's deathly afraid that if she blinks or even looks away, Miku will vanish, and all of her hopes that this isn't a dream will be unfounded. She truly meant it when she said she'd been waiting for this moment so long. Right now, the fact that they're so close is everything she could have ever yearned for and more. It's exhilarating.

The goddess smiles as she reaches for Luka's Soul Gem, which is so tainted with despair that it no longer matches her beautiful hair and threatens to burst, to turn her beloved into something that will ruin many lives. Luka simply watches as Miku's hands come ever closer, and for a moment she wonders what would happen if she prevented her from cleansing her Soul Gem. She even considers actually grabbing hold of her her hands and stopping her, but then a brief vision comes to mind. A vision of a world where no one is truly happy (even though those wretched Incubators get what they deserve), and she and Miku are enemies. And it disgusts her to no end. So she pushes the thought away, banishing it to the far reaches of her mind. Miku meanwhile grins once she finally is able to get a firm grip on the taint, looks up at her darling as she takes it into her hands, and presses it close to her chest, close to where her heart is.

Luka gasps when she abruptly feels more energized, more lively, and more roseate than she has ever felt being, but welcomes the feeling. She hasn't felt this way in such a long time.

Miku does not stop what she is doing until all of the taint is gone and Luka's Soul Gem is pristine and shining vibrantly again. Like it should have been this whole time.

Luka grins as Miku places it back in her hands and holds it close. She glances up at Miku, and the two just stare at each other, filled with elation and relishing in the fact that at last—at last—they have been reunited, are both safe, and know without a doubt that they will never be separated again. They had always been destined to meet. Fate had decreed it, as had Destiny.

Somewhere in the universe, the sound of voices can be heard, voices that sing of hope and love and how together they can conquer all. Luka smiles when she hears them faintly, because finally, finally, she feels at peace for once.

"Come on, Luka-chan. Let's go. Together."

Miku holds out her hand, and Luka does not hesitate to take it.

At last, she can rest.
