Title: Rapping Things Up
Summary: Beckett busts a rhyme.
Disclaimer: I don't own most of the characters I write about. If you recognize a name, odds are it isn't mine. But seeing as this is a fanfic website, you probably knew that already.

Beckett stared at Castle. She didn't like to back down from a challenge, but if she gave in to this one, she'd never live it down at the precinct.
"What's the matter, Detective? Can't back up your claim?" Castle asked.
She wasn't drunk. Not even close. But she was buzzed enough to join in when Castle, Lanie, and Esposito had started sharing stories of childhood embarrassment.
And that's when it had happened. She'd told them about a junior high talent show she'd won. Doing freestyle rap.
Castle's face had lit up and he'd immediately demanded proof of her skills. Normally, she would have rolled her eyes and walked away, but tonight wasn't normal.
Maybe it was the alcohol, maybe it was the care-free atmosphere of the reception. Maybe it was how hot Castle looked in a tuxedo. Whatever the reason, she decided to go for it.
She waved to the bartender and he poured her another drink. Once she had it in her hand, she cleared her throat and threw caution to the wind.
"I could've had a beer but I want to get drunk quicker,
so I got me another shot of this amber liquor.
And yes Castle I know it's actually a liqueur,
but I don't care right now so pick your jaw up off the floor.
This Italian drink is sweet with a just hint of bitter,
its got an almond taste that you won't want to quita.
You can use it when you cook or in a mixed drink,
on the rocks is also good but I prefer it neat."
She stopped and slammed back the shot. Then she stood and walked out to the dance floor. She turned to look over her shoulder and saw her best friend, her brother from another mother, and the man she loved more than anything staring at her, mouths open in surprise. She directed her gaze at her plus-one.
"You coming, Castle?"
