Sirius rested his feet on the ground and looked around with an eyebrow raised. The trees were all browns and reds, showing the end of Autumn and the beginnings of Winter. He shivered a little as he watched the wind blow a few of the fallen leaves across the road in front of him.
Turning the key in the ignition of his motorbike he pushed the kickstand into to place and sighed before throwing his leg over the machine and grabbing a small black bag. He looked to the path in front of him and surveyed the woods around it.
'Fourteen trees to the left of the path' he thought to himself as he counted. Finding the right one he glanced around the road to make sure it was clear and started into the woods, not on the well worn path the muggles had created but through the thick of it. He wasn't worried about his motorbike, there were enchantments placed upon it that would cause any muggles who came near it to wander the other way. And if it happened to be a wizard or witch? There were spells to keep them from it as well. He pushed aside branches and stepped over roots, it was a long way into the woods where he was going.
Sirius could hear girlish laughter as he neared his destination. He stopped for a moment to listen, his breath caught in his chest.
"Oh don't be silly! He would never!" a male voice joined with the words,
"You obviously don't know him like I do! He'd've done anything for us to get what we wanted."
"Yeah but seduce Madam Pince?"
Sirius suddenly realised they were talking about him. He took a breath.
"Yes! Because no teacher in their right mind would give us permission to go into the restricted section." Sirius could imagine her expression of knowing agreement as he continued, "So he worked his magic while we snuck in!"
"Oh my, there really isn't any woman who can resist Sirius then? Or is it the other way around..." Lily laughed, James joined her. Sirius pulled a camera from the bag he had brought along.
"Thats not true... there was always one girl that resisted him." James swept Lily into his arms. Sirius' chest tightened as he aimed the camera. Looking from James' mischievous smile to Lily's flushed cheeks, both their noses pink from the cold, he turned the lens to focus it. Their faces moved closer together, his finger pushed lightly on the shutter and a strong wind swept from behind him blowing his hair and lifting red and orange leaves from the ground. They encircled Lily and James in a cyclone of fire.
Their lips met, Sirius' camera snapped and he swelled with the most peculiar feeling. Immense pain melded with unspeakable happiness. He didn't move for a few moments, the emotions leaving him quite disoriented. It happened every so often and he had learned to control it for the most part but sometimes it snuck up on him. He hated feeling that way, the pain should not be there. He should only feel happiness, best mates of his had found love with each other. James, after many years of trying, had finally landed the girl of his dreams. But not just of his dreams. Sirius shook his head and emerged from the forest. They were smiling dreamily at each other when they noticed him.
