AN: Written for the Empress Empoleon's The Cho Chang Competition and inspired by a pairing from the Femmeslash Drabble Tag by Gamma.

When it came to love and sexuality, Cho Chang was certain that she was firmly heterosexual. She dated boys, like Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter and Micheal Corner. She kissed and dated and loved them and even enjoyed sharing her bed with them.

What she didn't do, was fall in love with another girl.

Or rather, that was how it was supposed to go. She had never felt attracted to other girls the way she felt for Cedric and Harry and everyone else she dated. Cedric in particular, made her heart beat faster and the feelings of love were more intense than any relationship she had before or since and his death had almost broken her, convinced as she was that she would never love anyone like that again.

And then she started working with Padma Patil in the Ministry, Cho found not a boring bureaucrat, but a pretty girl with a lively sense of fun beneath a quieter exterior and soon they began to seek one another's company outside of work and Cho thought she had found a new friend.

Well, they were supposed to be just friends.

But that was before Cho found herself admiring Padma's beautiful, silky black hair that danced over her shoulders. And before she started losing herself in her beautiful chocolate-brown eyes.

The situation came to a head, when the two of them got very drunk at a Christmas party and somehow ended up in bed together and although they both tried to brush it off as a stupid, one-off mistake.

Until it happened again. And again. And again, even when they were both sober. And the two of them kept trying to justify what they were doing as a simple desire for company, a desire to avoid an empty bed, to feel the comfort of another body.

Until Padma was hurt in an accident at work, one that almost killed her and Cho admitted that she loved her.

And now, as the two of them stood in the registry office, Cho smiled at her girlfriend and whispered.

"What did I do to deserve you?" to which Padma replied with a smile.

"You were you."
