Coming back to Lawrence wasn't going to be easy - not after the broken ends she had left behind. There were people who were still pissed, people who wanted her dead - but she couldn't change any of that now. She had to come back for protection, she'd end up dead if she stayed another moment in Las Vegas.
A sigh escaped Lauren's lips as she pulled open the entrance door. This was it, she was going to see those she left behind. The brunette stepped inside the clubhouse, frowning as everyone turned in her direction. Their expressions told a story that she had been severely afraid of. They weren't happy she was there. As footsteps approached from behind her, she instantly turned around - facing Jax. "This was a mistake, I want to leave." She said, her voice quiet. Everyone hated her.
Jax looked down at the brunette in front of him, shaking his head. She was on the verge of tears and that was something he hated to see from her. "Baby, give it time. They need to get used to you again." He replied, leaning forward and kissing the top of her head. "What the hell, Jacky boy?" Chibs asked, pushing the others aside. He stepped forward, crossing his arms over his chest as he looked at the pair. "Don't you dare tell me you're back with that slag. Did you forget how much she fucked up things for everyone?" His tone was hateful - he despised seeing Lauren back in the clubhouse.
"Don't you dare talk about her like that!" Jax yelled, causing Lauren to flinch. Jax placed his hands on Lauren's shoulders, quickly grabbing her attention. "Go wait outside, there's something I need to handle here." He said, nodding his head. Lauren did want to be alone, not around the lot. A sigh escaped Lauren's lips as she walked away from the man before her, walking outside. It didn't help being out there, she could still hear every word that was being said between the guys - it only made her feel worse about what she did.
"What happened to the guys that loved that woman to death? You used to welcome her with open arms when she walked through those doors, now you can't stand the sight of her. What the fuck is wrong with all of you?" Jax asked, his voice an octave higher than usual. Chibs cocked his head to the side, a smirk growing over his lips. "Do I need to refresh your memory, Jacky boy? How she switched between the two of us, caused tension between the club, then eventually ruined your marriage?" He was never going to forgive Lauren. "Why is she even here?"
Jax could believe that one of his best friends was acting like this towards the one he loved. It pissed him off, but he wasn't going to start anything major - not while Lauren was outside. "She's here because she was almost fucking killed!" He yelled, shaking his head. The guys were being idiots. "What makes that any different than before?" Chibs asked, watching as Jax stepped forward. "The fucker is still after her. He could get her at any moment, that's why she's here. I want to keep her safe."
The words caused Chibs to stay quiet, forcing him to think over what he had previously said. Maybe he shouldn't have been such an ass, Lauren didn't deserve that. "You're an ass." Jax said, shaking his head. He turned around, walking away from the guys that he basically grew up with. How could they be so heartless. Jax walked outside, frowning as he saw Lauren sitting on the bench. "Let's go, darlin'. This was a bad idea." He said, wrapping his arm around her. He helped her up and walked her to the car, helping her into the passenger seat. He wished things could be different. She loved this place, but everything happened for a reason.
