It had been a long time since Percy and Rachel had spent any time together, tonight was a special night. Annabeth was off at some Athena thing, and He and Rachel had planned to use the time to go to dinner.
Percy was wearing a tux, something that was very un-Percy. The only thing that set him apart from the standard tuxedo wearing, surfer-dude, was the blue Rose in his shirt. When he met her at the border of camp, she was wearing a long red dress, with a low back, and a black purse.
Percy stood there, frozen for a moment. "Uhh... You look great Rachel!" She smiled, and tried to ease the tension. "You too Seaweed Brain. Let's go." They walked together to his motorcycle, her taking a seat behind him, he throttled the bike, and it darted forward with a roar.
When they arrived at the restaurant, he offered his hand to her. "Shall we?" She laughed lightly. "Of course." She said, taking his hand and stepping off the motorcycle easily.
They walked into the restaurant, hand in hand. Percy led her to their table, they sat and they talked while they ordered. "How do you think Annabeth will react to all of this?" Rachel started, eyeing him carefully. Percy shrugged. "I've already told her, she knows. I just have something I need to go through with you."
Her eye's widened. "Yeah? And what's that?"
"We both know that I had feelings for you at one point and that you had the same for me, but we're through that now, aren't we?" She looked at him, then averted his gaze. "Well, let's just say, it still hurts a little..." He frowned. "Okay well, Rachel, I'm proposing to Annabeth tomorrow."
She started in surprise. "So, why are you telling me?" He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "I kinda need your help, I need a ring for her... But, I don't know the mortal world as well as you, so... yeah..."
