Empire

A/N: Got an idea from a line from the show "The Big Bang Theory". I love that show! It was the one where Sheldon said: "I wish I could control everyone like I could control you, you little plump plumber (he was playing Mario)."

Anyway, I thought of how Team Rocket wanted to control everyone (well, the Pokemon I guess) and how Sheldon was just a simple person (not really) and how he wanted to control everyone!

Okay, enough rambling on, I hope you enjoy!

Summary: It started when he heard a rumor that his girlfriend had kissed someone else, and that's when he finally cracked.

They lay under the stars on the light blue blanket that he had lay down for them. The two held hands as they pointed out the patterns in the sky.

"That one looks like Silver's dad, Giovanni." Sapphire laughed.

"Hey, yeah! You're right!" Gold said, the picture forming in his head.

"He was the head of Team Rocket, right?" Sapphire asked.

"Yeah. He wanted to rule the world." Gold said, tensing up slightly. Sapphire squeezed his hand, telling him to lighten up.

"Gold, would you ever want to rule the world? You know, get everything you ever wanted?" Sapphire asked. Before he could say anything, she continued to ramble on.

"Get all of the awesome legendary Pokemon, the best place to live, get the girl you've always wanted to date-" but as soon as she reached there, Gold jumped in.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down there, Sapph! For one, I love my Pokemon, they can't get any awesomer than that. Second, I love where I live, with you, in like, the best town ever!" he said.

"We only moved to New Bark because I lost rock-paper-scissors." Sapphire huffed.

"And lastly, you're the only girl I've ever wanted to date! You don't know how long I've been crossing off dates on my calendar, until Ruby broke up with you. Do you want to know how long? 6 and 24 freaking days."

"So that was what you were marking on that old calendar I found yesterday?" Sapphire asked. Gold blushed.

"You found that?"

"Yeah. I thought it was just how many days until Crystal got back from her vacation to Sinnoh." Sapphire admitted.

"Yes, because Ms. Serious takes vacations for half of a year, right?" Gold scoffed.

"Anyway, like a was saying, you're the only girl I've ever wanted to date, Sapphire." he said, quickly changing the subject back.

"What about Green? Silver told me that one time that you s-" but before she could continue, he had slapped his hand onto her mouth.

"Silver! I told him not to tell anyone, especially you!" Gold cut in angrily.

"Okay, so if you didn't want to date Green, then what about Crystal?" Sapphire questioned him. He didn't respond.

"Ha! Gotcha there!" she laughed.

"Geeze, Sapphire, do you want me to break up with you?" he threatened.

"Gold, you just said that I'm the only one you've ever wanted to date."

Instead of arguing with her, he simply kissed her, and they just lay under the starry sky in silence, until Sapphire fell asleep. Gold smiled, gently running his hand over her hair.

"Itsu no hi ka, watashi wa watashi wa anata to kekkon suru tsumorida chikau, Sapphire Birch."

(A/N: Google, my friends, Google.)

The next morning, after Gold had dragged Sapphire all the way to her apartment, he woke up in his bed, with a note on his bedside table. It was in Sapphire's handwriting, and the top half was smudged by what seemed to be water - or perhaps, tears - and only the bottom half was legible. It read:

Why, though, Gold? I thought you said you loved me?

I'm done, we're done. I'm sorry.

Super short chapter, I know. But it gets better. A lot better.

Well, at least I think it'll get better.

Second chapter will be up really soon.
