Spoot: another idea...
Ed: oooh no...
Spoot: yeah, inspiration hit!
The parts you dont see.
The wind was blowing hard outside, making trees bang on windows. normally this would have no affect in the Rockbell home. Because normally no one was home, accept Pinako and Den. Den didn't even bark. But tonight, when the branch hit the glass, Al jumped from his place on the floor. all that metal did was clank, and frighten Den, making him bark. Al shushed the dog by patting him on the head a few times and letting him lick his mask.
The bark must have woke Winry, when she appeared in the door way, Al hollered. She calmed him down with a giggle and an embrace. "Don't do that!" He said, "You could give someone a heart attack!" She just smiled, and pat his back. Hmmm, hollow. She pulled her hand away, and looked down at the floor. Al knew what was going on in her head. He placed an armored hand on her shoulder.
"Don't," He began, "Don't worry about it, please." He finished. She looked up into his purple eyes. What did he see out of them? Did he see her, or a distorted version of her. Did he see the world as everyone else did? could he see at all? well, that was silly. Sure he could see! Just, how? "Al?" She whispered he was busy playing with Den, and looked up.
"What color is my hair?"
He rubbed his head. "Blond." He said. Winry did not like the way he answered. it sounded more like a question. as if to say: 'blond, right?' She crossed her arms. "What color is my shirt?" She asked, he looked down. "Red." He said. She looked down at it. Her shirt was blue. She looked back up at him. "its blue Al." She said, shifting her wait to her other leg.
"Is it! it's dark in here! I couldn't tell." He said, rubbing the back of his head. He was actually trying to pull this off! "Al..." Winry snapped. He lowered his arm and sighed. "What do you want me to say? That I don't see color! WELL, I don't!" He snapped, then sat, hard, on the floor. He tucked his knees into his chest. "Al, I'm sorry." Winry said softly, sitting down next to him, and wrapping her arm around him.
"I didn't mean to upset you. honest. I just needed to know. I really am sorry." Al looked over at her. "It's ok Winry, I'm sorry for flying off the handle." Winry had to giggle. That was flying off the handle? "Oh, Al." she said, with a sigh. She leaned her head on his shoulder. "Don't worry about it." She moved her eyes upward to look at him. "So you really can't see color?" He shook his head. "But I remember your hair. its yellow, like a mid day sun. warm like one too." He finished with a giggle.
Winry sat up right. "you're so sweet Al." She said. She leaned over and kissed his cheek. She knew he couldn't feel that. "Winry?" He snapped looking at her. "Don't tell Ed." She said, standing up and scampering back to her room. Al placed a hand on the spot that had been kissed. he felt it. It was warm. He looked over at Den, who barked. Al narrowed his eyes. "Shut up, mut!"
Spoot: The end!
Ed: That was way to short!
Spoot: I don't care!
